That was ridiculous, Philogene was as good as through on goal in the box. He’d got goal side of the defender and just needed the ball rolling in front of him yet Zaroury went Hail Mary from about 30 yards on the half volley whilst under pressure.
I love an unsubstantiated conspiracy theory me, so I'm going for it. The players involved are Tufan - who can't see why he's not in the starting XI, Philogene who struggles to understand why he's been demoted to the right wing (right wing is inferior to left wing innit. Politics rule be damned), and Connolly who isn't really bothered one way or another but strikes me as a bloke who could start an argument in an empty room. You're right, I've totally made this up, but people will do so if posts just say there's trouble at mill, without elaborating. As you were.
All jokes aside, he’s going to be hard to shove out of that central midfield spot at the minute. I thought bringing him off was a mistake.
We just need to get the balance right next to him/Seri as I don’t think the 3 central midfielders as pairings are good enough to get us over the line
There was a post earlier In the week that he’s on £20k a week boozing and fighting in town every weekend
Pretty sure in this day and age with cameras in everyone's hands there would be vids and pics..... The wages, well......
Not sure, just replying what was posted for Connolly to come out with his tweet. Don't live anywhere close to Hull to know anything specific but just what I’d read on a post
Yeah. Although saying that, Bullard was hardly discreet about what he got up to and I’ve yet to see the videos of him snorting coke and spitting urinal cakes at people.
I think this is a bit of an issue. Obviously some of those loaned out are just young players for whom it's part of the plan. But we have quite a lot of senior players on the books, almost all still contracted beyond this season, who we don't want and are loaning out just to get them out of the way and presumably recoup some but not all of their wages. I wonder to what extent this impacts our spending power. The more I think about it the more I suspect that our summer 2022 dealings have wasted a significant chunk of the FFP headroom which supposedly made us an attractive proposition to buy for Acun. He's obviously been brilliant for us, but I think that first 6 months with Shota was a costly mistake.
It's my point that while Rosenior shoulders some of the blame, the recruitment over a number of seasons (dating back to before he arrived) has been incredibly haphazard and has left us with a bloated squad and wage bill. This needs sorting out. At least under LR the profile of player has been defined and identified and recruitment has markedly improved, but we're now going out and finding two great players in the same role which makes selection a nightmare, rather than getting one of Carvalho and Zaroury we got both and couldn't sign Chambers as a result, when I think Carvalho and Chambers would have been a more effective combination to sign.
