A few things that worked really well yesterday, and one has to hope Howe can learn: 1. Having attacking full backs on the pitch turned us into an offensive machine. The 4-3-3 with Burn at left back ran out of steam absolutely ages ago, and it's blatantly obvious Hall is good enough. Raw, but good enough. If Howe wants us proactive, shoving the immobile Burn and Longstaff repeatedly into this formation is baffling and MUST change. 2. Anderson was a step up on Longstaff and really showed good touches, awareness and is mobile. Whether knackered or just crap, Longstaff needs to be benched. Maybe getting Anderson into the middle and keeping him there is worth exploring. 3. Murphy was reasonably useful but I would keep him on the bench when everyone's fit, with Barnes and Gordon playing wide of Isak. Those three are potentially excellent if that Barnes cameo can be built on. For me, it's time to sell Almiron who is repeatedly useless. 4. One of the best changes in the game was Isak dropping deep and getting Gordon/Barnes to push forward - Isak has so much ability, and rather than trying to play with him as a focal "9" he's much better deployed as a 10. I hope this tweak can remain in place moving forward as well. There's life in the 4-3-3 with the right personnel running the show. With the defence we have our best option is to outscore the opposition consistently, then maybe deploy a wing back system against the stronger teams.
How spooky is this….. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/newcastle-united_leicester-city/index/spielbericht/1113274
In that Leicester City game in 1997 we went 3-1 down. Came back to win 4-3. The goals we scored were in the 77th 83rd and 90th minute. How spooky is that.
Sure that’s HDQ on there? Bollocks, hasn’t copied! It’s on Newcastle United FC fans on fb. I’m sure someone could copy it. I’m a Luddite.
