that really the best you can do bhaji ---
you could always try contributing a thread of your own once in a while instead of critisizing people like myself that have gone to the trouble of trying to create a thread of genuine substance for the enjoyment of everybody on here that can remember elio de angelis -

give it a try sometime -- or maybe you just dont have the knowledge to really contribute anything of any substance apart from critisizing people that are trying to contribute something to the forum -

I thought that the members of this forum would take the debate forward.

Unfortunately, we seem to have some individual taking it backward.

Surely the point of debate is to discuss alternative viewpoints and introduce new perspectives whilst trying to stay reasonably on topic for a sport forum.

Repeating the same post over and over and over and over and over is somewhat bizarre and never progresses the debate but simply tries to stifle it by boring the members and viewers.

Let us try to establish some reasonable intelligent argument.

    1. How many of the 217 were WDC's
    2. How many of the 217 never qualified for a F1 race
    3. How many of the 217 nver managed to finish a F1 race
    4. Which driver did xiggly call "as useful as a chocolate tea pot"
    5. Who is Tiff Needell?
    6. Why repeat the same post over and over and over and over and over etc

you are capable of answering your own questions bud , i am sure you are capable of consulting wikepedia or whatever -

suffice to say the 217 ex formula 1 drivers with 9000 starts and 270 wins between them many of which were world champions have forgotten more than you will ever know -

as i said if you have a poll of higher credibility --- lets see it -

    oh i nearly forgot

We obviously have a very different view on what "contribution" means. If it involves repetition, goading and conflict then I'd say you have it nailed and I'd also say you are clearly king. As for insults, I think you have that one pretty much taken care of too. Maybe we can judge that based on your reply to this. If I wanted to insult you, I'd do it... but I'll not stoop to that level. Good day to you. :)

you was the one that initially came on here to cause trouble to ridicule my attempt at creating a topic with genuine substance that everybody hopefully would enjoy --

as i said instead of just pathetically critisizing other peoples topics you could allways try and contribute a topic of your own -

---- or maybe you just dont have the knowledge to actually create anything of genuine interest on here -

It would be genuinely interesting if the OP would inform us of how many of the 217 were WDC's.

After all, it was he that made the claim.

I looked. There is 8 (9 but Vettel wasn't a WDC when the poll was made). With 28 race winners (unless i missed some which is likely)

not here to serve as your lacky bud -- you have the list of the drivers that were involved in the poll , you can work out how many of them were WDCs the same as i can --

    Thanks for that.

Obviously the 8 could have had many WDC's between them but describing that as being "many" amongst 217 is misleading.

Now all we have to work out is

    1. how many did not qualify
    2. how many did not finish a single race
    3. who is Tiff Needell.

Oops - I am committing my own sin of repetition.

so you did know after all -- why did you ask me if you knew allready .
hardly likely to find 217 WDCs amongst the 217 drivers that took part -- isnt 8 enough then ,
plus i think you will find there were also world champions in other forms of motorsport that took part also ,

suffice to say the people that did take part have forgotten more than you will ever know ,

    9000 starts , 270 wins between them - ----- oh i nearly forgot -

How many of the 217 drivers actually knew Elio de Angelis?

How many of them drove with him in the same seasons?

This topic has been exposed for what it is. Some bogus attempt of the OP to try to divert attention from his insulting behaviour on his previous topic. A topic that had to be closed as a result of his intolerance towards other members. And now he just repeats his same behaviour.

How come Dario Franchitti was not asked to vote? and why was he not voted for?

Surely he is one of the most successful F1 drivers.

whats up RI , cant think of anything else to say now you have run out of straws to clutch about the credibility of the 217 driver poll --

you were the one that came on here to ridicule it and me ,as you know i never back down from anything on here ,
no good changing the subject when i take an alternative view about the credibility of the poll and expose your shallow attempts -

    oh i nearly forgot --

9000 starts and 270 wins between them

There's the repetition... and an example of baiting. Are you going to do the "tick tock" again? I'd put my wage on it.

you were the one that initially came on here earlier this evening to ridicule me , if you had not been so pathetic in the first place i would not have had the need to respond to you --

try talking about formula 1 instead of just causing trouble next time and we will get along --
