Tearing what up? Chelsea proved years ago sack a coach get another good one Instant results Just what is been implemented at mill houses woods lane?? That whatever that is Stays the same A head coach comes in and tweaks it and motivates the players There’s plenty of good coaches out there Get one in Now and give him the time to assess the squad first hand Ready for next season
Chelsea are the exception to the rule. How's it gone for United? Even now Chelsea aren't going particularly well with 4 managers in 3 seasons.
Has any other goalkeeper ever cost a team as many goals across a season in the history of football as Allsopp has cost us this season? He is ****ing dreadful
I'd suggest that we do very little tackling generally. Pretty sure players must be instructed not to tackle in our half but to track the opposition, push them wide and make it difficult for them to cross or shoot. We let them muck it up rather than give away free kicks.
It all comes down to what the long term plan is. If Acun wants (or needs) promotion next season, LR isn't the man. If he can afford to wait a few more seasons then fine, give him another go.
I think if we can collectively get 30-40m for Jaden and Greaves then there's no pressing need from a financial sense. It then just comes down to his patience or lack thereof. I'd still struggle to see a scenario where Rosenior doesn't get the first few months of next season to prove he can right the wrongs.
Would need a lot of business done early, stating the obvious of course, but those 2 leaving + all the loanees would leave us with a bottom 6 squad imo. Midfield we have quality with no balance, Jones and Maka are dependable but won’t go up with that pairing. Jacob unproven, Coyle is up there. Then the forward line we have quite literally nothing. Omur and Tufan have quality but would love to see them in natural roles back end of this season, Tufan deeper and Omur central
Well talking to Baz on his podcast our Chief Scout suggested they're already well advanced in plans on identifying talent if we're not promoted. I would hope that means we can get deals done. We do have to adjust our thinking though that if deals are done late it doesn't necessarily mean they're done in a panic.
We’ve done pretty well in that sense in the case of Omur and Pandur. 2 players who will likely be huge players for us next season. Need to spare no expense in the striker department, and centre midfielder.
You’re into stats syd so what’s the stats on a third season manager getting promoted to a fourth season Aren’t most of those above us got a new first season manager? Apart from Ipswich and cov? robins has been there awhile but it’s like starting afresh for him selling his best players due to no promotion last season Is there a stat for length of time in charge equals promotion??
The issue is LR doesn't see a proper out and out striker a priority and unless he changes his view on this and how he wants us to play, I just can't see us spending big money in that area.
The teams above us aren't going up because of the new manager though they're going up because they've got parachute money. In fact Norwich looking good for the play offs now in a way proves that sacking isn't the answer. The fans were out for Wagner's blood earlier in the season but they stuck fat and look how he's turned it around.
I would suggest that Rosenior saying signing a striker in January wasn't a priority because he had two fit strikers in Delap and Sharp (at the time) was not the same thing, because once Delap was injured he agreed that we needed to sign one, and we did in Ohio. We signed Delap and Connolly to start the season and then Sharp in December when both Delap and Connolly were fit so clearly he was happy to bring strikers in.
Bonkers. As the showman he is I don’t think Acun will put up with it much longer. Every team who’s sacked their manager this season has replaced them with a manager who is trying to replicate the style we play. We are following the crowd, we didn’t set the trend. But a dynamic, hard working side with a good striker would completely buck the trend and likely do very well. (Norwich and Luton last season)
Can't believe yet again in having to say this to you....when did I say he didn't want to bring strikers in?, read the post I was replying to and then read my reply and actually look at what is wrote before replying
You said he doesn't see an out and out striker as a priority. I pointed out he signed not one, not two, not three, but four strikers. He made a comment early in January that a striker wasn't a priority, and then following injuries to Delap and Connolly changed his tune.
Parachute money and money in general isn’t the be all and end all. West Brom have not spend a transfer fee all season and are comfortably 5th. But they have a very good manager and quite a balanced squad. We have an inexperienced, naive manager and a squad full of lightweight fancy players. Corberán has been at West Brom about as long as Rosenior has been with us. I know who I’d rather have.
