Yes but maybe we got twine because he couldn’t get in the Burnley team. I’m not quite sure we can judge who we did and didn’t get is down to managers. More curcumstances at the time and when we got them
1st goal - Philogene lost his player, it was down to him 2nd goal - are people really blaming Allsop for that? You've got the Sky video to look at, the ball is hit along the ground and then takes a freak bounce off something and over Allsop. Was he supposed to anticipate that?
The ball bobbled as the player struck it, it literally just bounced in front of him and went through his hands. Another occasion of him being unreliable
I never said LR didn't have pull FFS, just that players and teams are coming here due to our owner putting up the ££. Twine went to Burnley last year as they offered a better deal for him and offered him more money FFS! Acun has backed LR outstandingly and he's got exactly what he's asked for and what he's asked for isn't working! He got his recruitment wrong, he's unbalanced the squad and is missing the key components to to us up, lots of people called it but LR stuck to his guns ( as he's allowed to do ) but it's failed ( by the looks of it ) and that book stops at him. Would these players be here if LR was the manager but allams where the owners still....after all they all want to come player for him! You're constant refusal to take your head out the sand comical, has he improved us, yes ( but let's be honest, anything after shota would have been an improvement). Can he sort out the obvious issues we have? On current evidence no! Has he stopped us shipping stupid soft goals? No! Has he got us creating clear cut chances and scoring goals? No! I would be saying exactly the same things I'm saying about LR no matter who was the manager if the same things where happening. If you think he's suddenly going to find a magic key to unlock clear cut chances and see the goals that we need, then fair enough you're entitled to. But the rest of us are allowed to think he won't and it doesn't mean we hate him and want gin to fail etc... after investigating almost 38yrs of my life, playing for the club, coaching at the club and working for the club but most of all being a fan. Do you really think I want to see any manager and player fail?
Yesterday was the culmination of a long pattern Its not about yesterday in and of itself Its the repeated failings I personally still think in acun and tans view Rosie is on thin ice Its a huge risk to believe he can take us to the next level Lots of money on the line
I said it the instant the second goal went in, and I still believe it now - that’s the last we will see of Allsop, I’d like to see Pandur start on Monday. Allsop’s USP is the short passing stuff, but we did so little of that yesterday that the point of him, and the compromises he requires, have evaporated. Yes the shot hit a divot, that was really clear from behind the shot. But he didn’t react to it at all, just froze and looked sorry for himself. **** that.
If you watch it back, the Stoke player has just lifted his shot and as it comes down it’s just bounced. The trade off for him really doesn’t make him worth it, struggle to think of a time he’s kept us in a game or won us points. Boro away maybe but half of the big saves he made that game came from him spilling shots into dangerous areas anyway. Pandur is coming with HUGE reputation, touch wood, he’ll go on and be a fan favourite here like he has been everywhere else
Allsop hasn't really put a foot wrong since Pandur has come in (until yesterday) so there was no reason to change. But there's 8 games to go now so that gives Pandur time to get used to the Championship. It would be a nice time to see Tufan starting regularly and playing a bit deeper too
Yes the continued benching of Tufan is really puzzling, playing Ohio ahead of him yesterday was a proper head scratcher. Which isn't to say that Ohio was poor, he is evidently raw but he did alright. Ozan is better though, IMO.
I've been a big critic of allsop, but he'd looked better recently. I don't think we'll see a change Monday, but I think we might if and when the playoffs become impossible
It pretty much has, over the last 10 games Norwich are averaging 2.3 points a game and we have to make up 6 points on them too. We've fell off a bit but they're flying and that's the main reason we won't make the play offs.
To clarify, while our chances of finishing in the top 6 have likely finished, where we finish at the end of the season and the way we finish the season hasn't played out. I've counted at least 4 people in this thread calling for LR out despite that which was my broader point. I suggested a few weeks ago Norwich had the far easier run in and would get 6th and was howled down about daring to try to predict how the fixtures would play out, as well as for suggesting I was happier for us to miss the 6 than bomb out of the play offs. We'll see how we line up at the start of the next season before getting too carried away.
Too often Allsop doesn't see the forward runs of Jaden, Zaroury, and yesterday Ohio when he has the ball at his feet.
I'm not one for changing managers every season or so. We won't go up this year and for me our chances of doing so have always been slim. We won't be the only team / set of fans who end up disappointed this season. Will Preston, Middlesbrough or Coventry sack their managers if they don't make the play offs this season? Not likely - and these are teams who will probably be our rivals over the next few seasons as we vie for Promotion. Will Southampton sack their manager if they don't win the play-offs? I suspect they'll give him another go. Everyone seems desperate for instant success - but we know that doesn't last. Better to build slowly (as per Brighton and Brentford) and have a chance of sustained success perhaps?
I'd love to finish 7th, that would be fantastic but I do think it's hard to define the difficulty of a run in. The teams at the top get nervy so can be good to play, the teams at the bottom are scrapping which can make for difficult games and the sides with nothing to play for can either be on the beach or play with a freedom they didn't have the majority of the season.
Absolutely agree. Unless there's a standout candidate who can come in and improve the club, you're just making change for the sake of it and tearing things up to start again.
