I don't think we dominate games, I think we dominate possession but that is mainly in our own half when teams don't put a press on us.

I think Philogene was at the back post for the first goal but made no attempt to move at all

"Goalkeeper - you job is to stop the ball if it goes past the defence'.
Defence - your job is stop the goalkeeper having to stop the ball"
Midfield - you have two jobs - one, to stop the ball getting to the defence and two to give the ball to the attack
Attack your job is to do just that and put the ball in the net."

Im glad you used the defence sorting out in the past tense, because he sure as hell hasn't sorted it out when we have given away stupid, ridiculous, negativity (in the team as well as supporters) inducing, points losing, lapses that have been current all season.. what manager with a home record like he has stays in a job.

Disappointing as it was, I did think the mass exodus after the second goal was embarrassing.

And meant I had to queue at the steps to the bridge when usually I manage to beat everyone out

In the first half, they had a corner McNally was stood on his own at the corner of the 6 yard box, he's about 6 foot 10, ball whipped to far post and he had a clear header but he headed it down and it was saved... it should have been picked up on but we have no one beyond Jones and Macca above 5 foot 10. Measurements for illustration purposes only.

Apparently the second goal 'hit a divot'...

I do think it's a bit daft that people are wanting him gone when the aim at the start of the season was for a top-10 finish and we're well on course.

Sunday morning reflections (I know it's Saturday but I'm feeling a Sunday vibe):

We missed Greaves massively, both in terms of defending and the speed and fluidity of our attempts to play out from the back. Couldn't have picked a worse time to get a 2 match ban. Some of those 10 yellows were stupid anarl.

Philogene needs to play on the left from the start - he's been playing in a position where he's less effective in order to shoehorn in loan players who've shown flashes of quality but aren't consistent enough. This is mental. If it's a condition of the loan arrangement then it's also stupid and is serving us right.

All three strikers got a run out yesterday and they confirmed the recent doubts; Ohio is raw but has potential - probably not ready for this standard of football yet. Sharp has lost the pace and strength that made him so prolific at this level - a case of mind still willing but body not able. Connolly - dunno why but his head's gone. Sad to say but false 9 probably serves us best at the moment and we'll return to it on Monday.

Giles has nailed down the left defensive role in recent weeks but he needs to step up (literally and metaphorically) and have more impact on our attacking.

Zaroury or Carvalho not Zaroury and Carvalho.

Finally, is it time for Allsop to be replaced? Probably not by Ingram but is Pandur ready? Stick or twist? I dunno on this one. What do others think?

We sacked shota and saw an improvement..... LR has done his job but he really ( on evidence so far ) isn't going to solve the issues that are holding us back and take us further.

It's tempting to be apocalyptic in everything we say after a game like that, but yes we do dominate most games. We don't sit back and have to accept teams attacking us. We usually have the ball and do most of the attacking. That is what I'd call dominating games. That is a change from last season when we didn't have the fitness levels or pressing ability to be on the front foot like that. Unfortunately, we still lack the ability cohesion to score the goals, entertain and win enough games, but that is a separate question to the one of dominating a game.

I could see from behind the goal that something weird happened with it. It seemed to go over Allsop as he went down to save it, so it must have come up off the turf weird. I wasn't sure if it was deliberately kicked into the ground in the way that Mesut Özil used to do quite a bit, or just luckily/unluckily skidded up weirdly. Didn't matter anyway cos we were never getting back into that game.

Players are here and teams have let them come here because we have been willing to play the asking prices and the wages ( in full ). Let's not pretend players and teams turn down bigger and better money elsewhere just to play for LR.

No, people said it would all depend how the season finished in terms of performances etc, if we missed out by a point or 2 people where happy to see him given the start of next season. But if we tailed of and finished miles away then people thought he would and should go in the summer..... Of you're going to try and play the "I told you so" card. At least get things right or you just make yourself look like typical Syd

I see dominating more, having teams penned in their own half. Very rarely is that the case, we are still incredibly easy to play through and other teams often look more threatening in the few attacks they have compared to the majority of attacking we do over the course of the game, and I believe that is down to how we are coached in the final third.

I know on good record attackers are told to keep the ball above all.

This endless crusade against him from you is so tiresome.

We couldn't sign Scott Twine under Shota. He chose Burnley instead. We couldn't get Jed Wallace or Joe Swift either. Since LR came, we suddenly could get Twine, and then Philogene, Giles, Zaroury, Carvalho. All these proven quality players who other clubs wanted. We paid big money in summer 2022 but couldn't get domestic players. Now we can and routinely do get them. These are facts. You're absolutely desperate for Rosenior to have "no pull" as you've called it before but it's obvious, easily disprovable bollocks.

All 3 listed went to parachute payment clubs. What do you think they offered that we couldn’t?

Why do you think Zaraory, Carvalho don’t seem to be droppable also? Is it because unlike other clubs we offered them guaranteed game time and should they not get it we would face a financial penalty?
