Thought it was out of character for you to tell someone to shut up, tracked back a bit and you were referring to yourself Great to see Adil bossing it today, he's a very exciting player. Bags of ability and a great mentality. Might be the answer to our set piece prayers too.
Thought Adil was excellent today brings good energy and not a small amount of quality to the team. But wasn’t alone the whole team seems to have stepped up their work rate and press lately. Today we could have been a Mowbray team from the end of last season Begs the question what the hell did Beale do to sap the energy and spontaneity out of these kids They have talent in abundance time to let them express themselves again
Luke O’Nien was top notch today, he really benefitted from that suspension it seems, the way he steps into midfield and finds the pass, especially in the second half, we’ve really missed that.
With the way he plays handles himself and (shouldn’t matter but) his brothers high profile I really think we have a very expensive player on our hands
Just to be clear so there’s no confusion - everyone has been friendly comment - Smug may be the main person that calls you out but I get the vibe that plenty others think your incessant negativity is tedious. I’ll speak for myself now though - I’m a Sunderland fan and to see us win brings me a great deal of happiness. To see them play well makes me ecstatic. This is not the only thing that brings joy to my life but I hope there’s joy elsewhere in yours because following Sunderland clearly doesn’t do it for you and I wish you’d keep your misery to yourself.
Finally I stayed up late to watch and we have Won yee haa. I think Jobe probably was MOTM but I also thought that DN was superb along with LON and DB. I also noticed our CB's were starting to drive forward again and carrying the ball forward which really upsets defenders of the opposition and helps us to attack, it also shows that confidence may be coming back and as I have said before confidence with young players is the key.
Said it for months we are better with Bellingham up front as it's his best position and he's our best c.forward.
I've been here six weeks and posted plenty of positive stuff. Which has been difficult to do given our form. Now that we're back on track I'd like to see us maintain that level of performance. Would Keane have been ecstatic with four points out of twenty seven? I'll be ecstatic when it's warranted. It's strange that people have taken such offense at literally being called friendly.
Sunderland's Mike Dodds on Jobe: "We should be excited about his performance, something we can build on moving forward. He's scored a goal and done well in the the game. He's a coach's dream, if I said go and play in goal he would just crack on with it. "What he has got, which many number nines don't have in this league, is unbelievable quality with his feet - a centre-midfielder playing up front. "He gave us a platform to play off but you've got to remember he's a second-year scholar playing in the Championship. "He's 18 and I know he carries the weight of his brother, which I think sometimes is unfair. "But if you put that to one side, you've just seen a second-year scholar who has been exceptional and should be playing youth-team football."
Some canny snippets from the BBC match report and the comments below it: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68633441 Adil Aouchiche's penalty fired the visitors in front at Cardiff City Stadium, scoring at the same end of the ground where Wales had lost a penalty shootout against Poland in their Euro 2024 play-off final just three days earlier. 19gaire 01:19 One of the worst I've seen from us, no second balls, can't pass. Second half was better but could have lost it by 3 or 4. Nice talking to the Sunderland lads in the pub before. MarHaway The Lads 21:11 29 Mar That win is for SAFC superfan Tommy Lynn. RIP.❤️ MarHaway The Lads 21:08 29 Mar Useful win for SAFC and championship status secure so let’s hope the takeover now happens and Dreyfus departs the SOL forever. (seriously, what the ****??) Marlogie 18:01 29 Mar Worst home game of the season, once Sunderland realised we offered nothing they took control. Felt like I was at a Sunderland home game not a Cardiff game MarMeagain 17:51 29 Mar Well done Sunderland. A good win for your fans who have travelled so far across the country. MarAdamFTM 17:32 29 Mar 7 goals for Jobe and should be 8 given he had a goal disallowed incorrectly against WBA. A great return for the lad.
I haven’t been around much lately so haven’t seen any evidence of you being overly negative so until I do you’re good with me. As a general rule I don’t mind people being “negative”. It’s the people who constantly try to talk positive people down to their negativity which frustrates me.
I've got to eat a bit of humble pie. I've been critical of him recently, but he was excellent today. Maybe the couple of weeks off did him good, but,I'm looking forward to seeing him play in that position again on Monday.
Just what we needed! About time a poor decision went in our favour and we truly grasped the opportunity and took control from there. Four points and two clean sheets goes along way to getting us back on track and hopefully we can cement our turn around with a win on Monday.
