good point end of the day because we weren't there for 70 mins. ref lost it at the end missed some big calls at the death how the hell that lad who spent more time on the floor last ten mins didnt get booked for knocking Anthony in to touch beats me and missed a big hand ball at the death.
Overall we deserved the win, much better second half with Ampadu at the back and Firpo. Southampton never gained on us, we gain a point on Leicester, the Internationals worked against us tonight. Who would not have taken this at Christmas
Matteo will be a star. It would have been nice to have played better so we could give Charlie Crew some minutes.
Disappointed that our stint at no1 didn't last very long but grateful for the point tonight and so long as we stay in the top two I will be happy.
I think that may have been Cooper's swansong. Cry, apart from his wonderful goal made some very poor decisions. Dan James was too slow. Firpo showed what he gives us when he came on. Byram was much better on the right and Archie was superb in MF. He came back to take the ball off the back 4 which wasn't happening earlier. Ampadu and Rodon were much more comfortable but without Dennis they were a different prospect.
We needed to boost our midfield. I would have moved Gray into midfield at half time, bought on Firpo and switched Byram to right back. It's what Farke did, but far too late. It was obvious after 30 minutes that Bamford was seeing very little of the ball
Barring a lot of injuries, that could be his last game for us. Looked ****ed when he came off. We shouldn't split Rodon/Ampadu up again all season unless we have too. Start the same back 4 that finished tonight, Gray/Kamara midfield
