You're right, sentiment doesn't come into it where money is involved. How does his home record stack up against Shota's? It just seems odd how the team can play so well against some good teams and struggle so badly against poorer ones. A plan B will be lined up at the end of the season unless results improve. There's still time to fix things but some recent performances say it could be a lost cause.

I don’t think he should sack him now but Acun definitely needs to start shortlisting who he wants to replace Rosenior in the summer. Letting Rosenior have another full summer transfer window would just be a massive waste of time and money. Sunk cost fallacy. Nice guy and everything but Acun needs to stop wasting his money and the fans’ patience with this chancer.

    that's the thing aint it

if we are going to go through a full summer window bringing in players, spending a fair bit, does he actually believe rosie can sort out the attack isues with another rebuild? its a big risk

Stick or twist? There's no denying there has been progress, but given the level of backing, has there been enough? I don't think so.

Think Rosie is a work in progress. Not sure we've the time or patience to wait for him.

If Acun buys a feeder team in Europe I think it would be a good move for Rosie to step aside and learn his trade there. Why not develop coaches as well as players.

But I think there are many reasons why that would never happen.

I honestly dont think that Rosenior is attack minded enough to correct the failings of 17 months in that area. Thats why I feel his days are numbered. Rosenior was a defender and as someone else said earlier a Bruce defender, his assistant a non successful (in management) defender.. I dont know about the rest of the management team, but for sure none seem to be attacking coaches. I'm sure he'll have a career in management but the last two months will have shown his deficiencies to future employers.

For goodness sake, some clubs are now employing set piece coaches..

It’s a big rebuild in the summer as well. Lots of key loanees going back, quite a few out-of-contract players and the probability of Greaves and Philogene being sold.

New right-back, another holding mid, maybe even two, a whole new set of strikers (at least three), a right-winger, a new centre-half if Greaves goes and another winger if Philogene goes. That’s just the minimum.

Rosenior’s had several transfer windows to address our attacking issues and he’s ****ed it every time. He’s also created a severely unbalanced squad of short-arse, powderpuff technical players that get bullied and outfought by any Championship team with the slightest bit of physicality and/or nous.

He came in and steadied the ship after the ****show that was Shota but he can’t take us any further than that. He swallowed an encyclopaedia of football jargon and thinks that makes him a good coach.

I wonder what the likes of Ipswich, Stoke, Preston, Norwich, etc were doing over the international break while City were having a nice time in Turkey?
    Just a thought…

Yep. That's reason number one from the many reasons I couldn't see it happen.

But I reckon it would serve him in the long run to swallow his pride and take a step back.

He’s to rigid, Rosie ball on paper and in his head works. He’s like Terry in many ways, “we are playing this way and if it doesn’t work, we are playing this way”. Terry openly admitted we only played one way and plan b was to make a better.
Rosie balls great if the rewards out weigh the risk, ie we take risks at the back with the way we pass and play it to seri. Are the rewards that we break the press and break at speed, catching teams in the break and creating a lot of chances and scoring goals?

the answer all season has been no

we can take the cliques view that we have improved and we have but that doesn’t mean we should be grateful and not expect or be disappointed if we don’t do better.
With this logic we should be grateful to be in the championship after the 80’’s and 90’s

Don't disagree. with most of that. But, to progress you have to develop and change as you learn. He keeps saying he won't change. Presumably not just talking about his style of playing (yes, his, as in he really believes it's his) as well as the sort of players we need and as importantly don't need etc. If he doesn't 'progress' (read change) then he'll soon be back to punditry.

Edit: and I think he will be back to punditry sooner rather than later. He's too arrogant to change ATM, and he's too arrogant, in that he thinks he's somehow the new messiah, to accept that he needs help in terms of an attacking coach to bring what he clearly doesn't have.

To be be frank, when you need to win a game or score a goal, the keeper passing it to the centre half and him passing it back 20/30 times a game isn't gonna score us a goal.

IMG_1926.jpeg We're in the group that neither wins enough games (obviously) or scores enough to be in the playoffs...

The problem is, we played with a striker today and punted the ball long a lot, but we didn't get anything from it.

Rosenior got it wrong today - but it wasn't the passing around at the back that was the problem. It was the pace of the game and the energy on the pitch. He's also responsible for that of course, but to fall into blaming passing round at the back misses what wasn't right today.

I’ve not read anyone who’s said that but you are right it wasn’t the problem.
I also think Lewie needs to take a leaf out of ashbees book and start pointing and dishing out a few bollockings on the pitch
