My granddaughter has a severe allergy to milk in any form and whenever she comes over we spend hours reading ingredients on packaging. Some of the things that they put milk into these days seems quite ridiculous, and you have to ask why. Matters have become worse in recent times since manufacturers have sought to cover their backs by stating that although there is no milk in their product it has been made in a factory that uses it.
Oh dear, football is getting devalued not just at league level, but in the lower divisions as well. Earlier in the week there was a story about Kettering and the fact that their owner, a certain Imraan Ladek had placed the whole squad up for transfer. The manager hoped to be getting some loans in himself and announced that they had acquired three players. The latest today is that they have been stopped from doing so. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/15880214.stm Prior to Mr. Ladek and the current manger things were hardly going smoothly. The following was taken from an article about the previous owner and manager. "The Non-League Paper had a Rushden and Diamonds day yesterday, making the club's fate its lead story and carrying a major interview with manager Justin Edinburgh who urged the need for a more effective fit and proper person's test for club owners. He pointed out that club owner Steve Beasant has been declared bankrupt, but Beasant responded that he was discharged from bankruptcy in 2009. He claimed that when he took over 'certain things came out of the woodwork we were unaware of." Fit and proper person test gets called into question even at this level. Just why do some people get involved?
That's great news ...let's hope we hear more good news next week from fellow members I used to go to the Coal Hole when i worked in the Strand...loved it there Fantastic! Proud Dad Dan, he's going to Blackpool
As the dangers of nut allergies became more widely known some brands of salted peanuts took to labelling their packets with the extra advice "May contain nuts."
Ello Red. Thats good to hear! Lets hope we put on a show for you, and then steal it along with the 3 points. Were abouts are you sitting? Maybe i will see you.
Oh the joys of single malt. It's brassic up here and I was freezing on the way to the club but the malt made me cosy toes all the way home.................
My 15yo would prob do the same if we lived over there. When I was that age we had the Junior Hornets coaches where we played other junior fans in the morning before the game, had lunch with them and then were guests of theirs and the hospitality was returned when they came to the Vic. The two I remember most are Palace where we got burgers, beans and chips for lunch and Leeds which is the only time I've been scared at a football game.
