Who said I'm ****ing pleased! Pathetic attitude from some writing us off wailing . I'm as frustrated as anyone
So frustrating. If he had any acceleration he really would be a bloody good player. Won't ever be Prem level though with his tortoise speed.
Today is a perfect summary of our season and why we aren't quite good enough for the top 2. We dominated the game and with chances like Che x2, Brooks ball to Fraser and Arma's goalmouth scramble (plus others!) we should be sat here talking about how incredible we were after a fantastic 4 or 5 nil win. Instead we were wasteful and got punished, as we have several times this season. Martin's style of play can be slow and sometimes lacks the intensity to put kill sides off. But i think our lack of a goalscorer and any reliable finishers is the main reason we struggle to kill teams. Still, play offs will be fun!
Yes, it's the fans writing us off which is the problem. Not RM's tactics Not the fact our strikers can't hit a cows arse with a banjo Not throwing away multi millions on an unfit striker Not the fact that not one of those players has a winning mentality and the ability to dig in and get gritty It's the pathetic attitude of the fans which is the problem
This. It isn't the tactics at all. We are just lacking the quality in one or two areas, particularly up top. Should have won 3-0 comfortably today. The playing it out from the back puts us under pressure sometimes, but it opens teams up a lot. Che's 'offside' goal came from us playing out from the back.
Not quite 16th though is it? Our squad is about 3rd of 4th best in the division. And that's where we'll finish.
It’s not Stewart’s fault but it’s a day like today that makes me think his signing was the critical error that will ultimately cost us this season. Che attracting Prem interest baffles me.
Absolutely. We needed a striker so, so badly and instead we signed a crock. Look what a difference it’s made to Ipswich and Leeds to have reliable goal scorers. So in fairness we can’t really blame Martin today.. we did create chances. However if we don’t go up (which we won’t) I won’t mind if we try something different next season. He has made decisions this season which have cost us points and his style is suicidal at times. Also wouldn’t mind seeing the back of bazunu
I’m not sure I agree that Stewart’s injury is the big failure. Che’s previous record in the championship and goals per minute at the very start of the season suggests he really should have been good enough - with or without Stewart. He just hasn’t lived up to it at all.
Yeah definitely should’ve got a striker in Jan when it was clear Stewart was out for the season. With all the FFP stuff coming out now it wouldn’t surprise me if we couldn’t due to being on the cusp of breaching though. Martin is an interesting one. It looks like we are on course to have a 90+ point season but that may only be good enough for 4th. I’d be interested to see what the club do if we don’t go up, as you’d imagine the squad he will hve next year will be a fair bit worse than this seasons one
Disagree. We've looked excellent for big chunks of the season. So much to build on, and now we know what to expect. Changing manager now would be the final nail in the coffin. So many players have underperformed this season but Russ and the football have been very refreshing after last season. Genuinely think next season we could be stronger. Get rid of those who flatter to deceive, and spend the money on players who are proven at this level.
