managers need players. Its that simple. I can rememebr idiots saying klopp needed a defensive coach. I can rememebr idiot press asking him about it and him saying he could write a book about it. Just buy a vvd. Whoever the manager is will need top players to get top results. Lets not kid oursevles that klopp over achieved every single year with crap. He bought well and got the most out of them even if the names were not fashionable. Did klopp make salah firmino mane or did he buy well adn give them the platform to prove their talent? IMO a manager needs to lead and be selective as well as talk the tactics. Klopp is a master at leadership and is a master at selecting well while ruthless as cutting as well. He might have made mistakes like karius but he resolved them too. Look a the list of losers who whing about klopp sahko? Balotelli? etc etc etc. all cut.
I think this year they’ve just massively struggled with Europe. First time lot of the players have had to play 2 games a week and Brighton’s squad depth is no where near others, especially with the number of injuries they’ve had this year as well.
I'm not sure about de Zerbi coming in. I've nothing against him, but the thought of him at Anfield doesn't fill me with enthusiasm. There again, anyone and everyone feels like a massive step down from Klopp to me atm - I can't think of a single manager that I would expect to replace him adequately, but we have to go with someone I suppose.

I'd agree in general. A man takes over from graham potter (who could not set a team up to score if his life depended on it) a man gets 6th in the prem and semi finals of the fa cup. 62 points and 18 wins. A man doesn't really buy anyone, the club does it. A man has his best two cms sold out from under him. A man is on course for a 6th to 8th position finish with possibly 60-62points again.
