The club have been on a big push with this stuff today. Can imagine it comes from LR but there's clearly a concerted effort to foster a real mood of excitement and positivity for these last few games. Fits in with LR's talk of peaking at the right time too. We just need that result and performance tomorrow now. If the goals finally come the place will be rocking and it's that cycle we need, but if we struggle to break them down people will be impatient.
The international break came at a good time for that imo. We’ve yet to peak this season so now would be perfect
I really think it's a shame that this team hasn't yet had a run to really inspire the fans. There've been some great games, but not really a run and I've never sensed that the crowd has really believed in the team. For example, I don't think I've heard a single "We are going up" or similar chant at any point this season, which is bizarre when you think we've been in the playoffs for most of it. There's a really conspicuous lack of buzz relative to our league position. Personally I think the biggest reason is the lack of that run. Whenever there's a game that excited us, the next one always seems to quell it spectacularly.
I think Stoke are a bad team to be coming up against if we want a 3/4 goal win given they tend to sit in.
Realistically anyone is. We don't tend to get those wins. It'd be lovely, but we could do to keep our expectations realistic.
Think a Watford/Boro would have been the perfect opponent as they would have been more likely to come and attack and open themselves up somewhat.
The better performances have only seen marginal wins too, by a goal or so. Being dominant and only winning by a goal doesn’t generate the same buzz as winning a tighter game of fine margins 3-0. Off the top of my head I can only think of Sheffield that we put to the sword at home. There’s got to be more than that?
Honestly? Wouldn't you put it past 'typical city' to draw at home in a damp squib then go and beat Leeds? If this is 'must win' then surely the next one, and the next one is too?
Indeed we shall, but it's great that we're looking up, not down. And supporters need to remember that. 'Cos I'm expecting it to be attritional tomorrow, but it's a game we can win.
