I remember back a few years ago when Martin Brundle wheeled out this gem of a line.

"Felipe Massa is encountering Virgins in all the wrong places"

Made me chuckle.

I wouldn't mind it. It's not like it's a new company and everyone is sniggering like little girls saying "hahaha that company is called Virgin". It's been around for years and is a very successful company.

Having said that, I don't think we're more likely to have Virgin Money on the front of our shirts than any other company tbh.

Pretty good bit of press for Virgin. Even if they don't end up sponsoring us, they've just gone public to all of Newcastle telling them that they are very respectful of their heritage. Nice and easy way to have thousands of people thinking you're a company that cares .

 

I officially hate Virgin Media now though. Bastards wanting money off us last year, the fools!

 

Yeah when they took over NTL I was gutted because NTL's service was always pretty decent and suddenly I was stuck talking to a pack of idiots with brains made out of bread. You'd have thought they'd keep mostly the same staff and customer service policy, but I suppose Branson had other ideas.

They'd throttle my connection regularly and whenever I'd call their line (which was only free if I had their phone package) they would claim they knew nothing about it and throw me around as many people as possible to waste my time; then when I hung up my connection would 'mysteriously' return to normal . **** Virgin Media.

Had nothing but trouble with Virgin, could never get any satisfaction from them and moved over to Talktalk, not brilliant but better.

 

Belgium has terrible internet providers. I went without net for 4 months of the year contract because of a problem on their end that they 'couldn't fix'. Racked up hundreds of calls to their customer support, they sent out technician after technician who stood there looking at the modem tutting and shaking their heads and one time on the phone they even said: "you know, the internet is a lot like a tap, sometimes when you turn the tap on there's no water". What the hell is that?

 

You could never get satisfaction from a virgin?
