Interesting read for anyone interested. Makes Keane sound like a total ****, as for Quinny the bloke is a proper legend. http://www.thenational.ae/sport/foo...of-life-after-messi-and-barcelona?pageCount=0
I dont see Keane as a total whatever at all. He had a job to do when he took over and to be fair, we went from bottom of the world to the champions in 8 months, so Keane did something right. However, the generosity of Niall Quinn never ceases to amaze me to be fair and my respect and affection for the bloke increases yearly. No, he isn't cut out to be a hard nosed football director but yes, he will always be number one in the hearts and minds of a generation of fans. Charlie Hurley holds the title of player of the century and for that generation its fine. For me at 47 years old, this incredible man is the greatest player and person to have worn my club colours with such pride and grace by a country mile. Strange that the 2 greatest men at SAFC in the last 60 to 70 years, were both of Irish background.
Really fantastic read that. Pity for the lad and a case of might have been, no opinion of him as a player as never seen him play, but seems a canny fella, and i will keep my eye on his new club see how they get on. Quinn and Arca, what a cracking coupe of people, we choose our heroes well it seems!
