I think TM was not fully aware how strict the plan was with 1 exception [dack], he is injury prone. The sale of Ross was the right thing to do, but Batth Pritch and Gooch were probs not such a good idea.
Mowbray was perfectly entitled to give his concerns to the club ... ... not to make every press conference a moan about the squad. I'd imagine he was warned but, perhaps for the sake of a payoff, ignored the club. It's the easiest trick in the book, Bruce, Redknapp and Allardyce made themselves rich with it ... ... and a fair few agents into the bargain. Managers like them want to be in control of transfers because of the backhanders imo.
I just can't shake the feeling that one of the main prerequisites will be it needs to be someone either out of work or really cheap. I hope I'm wrong.
Theres no one i want more than Steve Cooper, it would be a major coup getting him, he literally ticks every box in what we're looking for in a manager.
We won't persuade an employed PL manager to come here ... ... but Cooper might come. As there's no compensation to pay we could pay more wages.
I couldn't care less if he is out of work, in work, expensive or cheap. The only things I care about is if he can get a tune out of this squad of players and keep the fan base happy.
Dodds n beale dont have experience of developing players at 1st team level and are both tactically lacking Bob was having a dig at speakman, and if he wanted to make the points you were made i certainly didnt take it that way We wont get the perfect manager, if they ticked every box they wouldnt be managing at championship level We need someone to set the standard off the field, that i totally agree with, doesnt need to be a hard nosed manager but has to be someone the players will respect that sets a high standard The biggest thing is always their man management style, thats why TM was so good as he motivated the players to play better Speakman will rightfully get criticised for his performance this season, its been poor but he has also done a lot right with the club since coming in (which some people will always forget because they dont like him) This summer is make or break for speakman, he has to have learned from previous mistakes - the biggest thing for me is he must sign championship ready players
A couple on here baying for Speakman blood. He’s done some good but has had a nightmare recently. I’m arguing for fresh blood / additions / adjustments in first team recruitment with someone able to organise and energise better players. People like Murty being involved may help, he may know the required standard of player better than under 21 experienced lads.
I think people knowing how to nullify us and us not having an alternative way to counter that was the issue. We could have done with an alternative to Evans, we've got more important injuries now than under Mogga.
