As others have said, it wasn’t always, but he was put on the wing a number of times. This is possibly the most frustrating thing I have witnessed this season because he is clearly our best option up top (if we are play with just one striker). If he comes back from injury and they waste him out wide, I might actually lose my
He was played there because we had no wide options, that's not the case now and there's absolutely zero chance of him playing there for us now.
Plus we won at Leicester playing with Delap on the right, he was pivotal to our attacking threat that day.
Fair enough, I’ve not seen much of us this year, but the ones I saw, he always seemed to be on the right.
He was. But there were many games where we didn’t win and Connolly (or whoever) was ineffective down the middle on their own. Points dropped because of it IMO.
Honestly can't think of any games he played out wide where we struggled. Can you remind me? Not being a smart arse genuinely can't remember.
Nah all good I'll take your word for it, but it's irrelevant anyway as we have wide options now so he'll play up top.
Wrong thread I know, but does anyone know why the Cardiff tickets are being sold based on loyalty points? I wouldn't have thought it was one we would sell out, given the distance.
From Transfermarkt website, we have picked up 42% of the points available when Delap has played out wide, in comparison to 52% when he has played central. I’m not sure exactly how reliable this website is though and I would be more accurate if I searched back through match day threads, as I believe some games he was used out wide and then when we finally played him central (usually down to subs or chasing the game) we were much more dangerous. This would take too long to figure out however! Hopefully it is all irrelevant though and he will play central when he does return, as you say!
Will Rosie be tempted to go 3 at the rear, 5 across the middle? Coyle Jones Giles Philogene Slater Morton Seri Zaroury Omur Carvalho
He's not going to go three at the back and even if he did, there's zero chance that they'd be the three. Macca will just come in for Greaves.
I wondered this. Can only imagine it's to get people used to them being assigned this way ready for the playoffs or the final day automatic promotion decider at Plymouth.
Anyone think that two weeks without a competitive match may mean we are not as sharp as we might be? However we should have a lot ready energy !
I'm not sure what you mean and I've probably been whooshed, but Plymouth away is our last game of the season and I'm saying that will be our automatic promotion decider.
