Surely you don’t believe a management structure of JL, BT and LM is a successful, or experienced one? , all of them are way over their heads, if we keep them in place we are in deep trouble.
Probably, but we had an experienced manager with those 2, and we were no better off, so unfair to point at LM. We know where the issues lie in our club, it’s above the manager and always has been, right back to when SoD took over.
I agree Supcon I’d also add that we are lacking height and strength up front - the ‘number 9’ which RR (and I) have mentioned on a number of occasions - plus Matty James being injured hasn’t helped.
Matty J is our best player when he plays well city play well. The number 9 was always going to bite city on the ass. proved my assessment was 100% correct.
The two above picked someone they could manipulate, because the one before they couldn’t. We are now finding out what happens when you don’t have a manager that’s experienced and with the ability to manage despite the numpties above. I agree all three need to go, I’ve said it in an earlier post. We don’t have the players to play the style of play Manning wants, nor the financial clout to bring in ones he’ll need, and at the quality required. So unless he adapts we’re stuffed. therefore either he needs to be pragmatic and adapt his style to the players we have, or we need to bring in a manager that will.
over the past couple of seasons a number of teams have had a manager that has had health issues. NP is / was no different except in the respect he didnt "take a break" from it to recover and allow someone else to run the show for a while! ? Was he fearing a scenario similar to when SIMPSON took a break and NP after being told couldnt pick a / bring in a head coach did so, and when Simpson was back fully fit was pushed down the pecking order and eventually had to leave??? ALSO you have to look back at history .. NP was a bit of a handful with the owners etc at a previous club!!! ... was the illness his undoing, should he have taken a break ... but left no alternative for the dismal to have occurred? note ... I was not happy when he arrived, although over a period up to start of 2023 I started to warm to him [ after his "illness" almost right up to the day he left. His last few interviews and "attitude" did seem to indicate he was stressing and and being rather egoist!
You were happy with Nige having 3 years and fail but you want rid of LM already...... IMO even had we kept Nige, I really don't believe we would be any better off in the league.......If we're honest it's been disappointing most of the season. The main highlights were v Southampton, v Watford, v Middlesbrough and then v West Ham and v Forest.................guess what? all under LM
The problem wasn’t Nige, it was we didn’t invest last summer, I happen to believe we would be better off this season had we kept him and I don’t believe his leaving was results driven. That’s water under the bridge. LM was bought in to improve results THIS season, he hasn’t done it. He wants us to play in a way that’s not suited to our squad, we don’t have enough money to buy a load of players to fit his system. If he successfully adapts fine, if he doesn’t then he’d gotta go, and we need to bring someone in that will get the best out of the players we have plus a few additions to improve our attacking options. I’ve nothing against Manning per se, just don’t feel he’s either the right fit, or experienced enough at this point.
Be honest guys, does a management team of JL, BT and LM suggest anything other than relegation next season, because it scares the hell out of me. Thers nothing I’d like better than be proved wrong, but I can’t see it. I’ve no axe to grind and my only concern is for BCFC.
Thats one of those comments that can never be proven either way! Until the last 10 games I would have said it was LM keeping up with the liklihood of "both" leaving us in the mid table on around 65 points! pretty average ....... LM needs a miracle now to get there! DISAGREE WITH FIRST COMMENT but TOTALLY AGREE WITH SECOND! We have fair play to contend with, so we will find out in the next accounts how much less is our debt! To have spent say another £10m in the summer could have left us in a deeper hole than we are going to be in! Hindsight is as we all know a rather weak argument... but say we had spent another £2m .. then we might not have got our cup run! / or our cup run would have been worth another £m and that extra spend would have been covered
LM should be allowed to bring some players in the summer (as did Nige) to try and compliment what we have towards how he wants to play...It's bloody ridiculous/fickle not allowing him time....
It’s not just parts though, it’s his FULL tenure, without the head start he had when he arrived we’d be in the bottom three
It’s facts though. We were 8th when manning arrived. What was it 3,points off the play offs, we really weren’t relegation threatened as we are now. Those are the facts.
