I remember one particular GMTV with some Xfactor rep and Colin Murray when Joe McElderry with 'The Climb' was up against RATM for #1. The Xfactor rep was banging on about the RATM single not being festive and that people should support Joe's single to which the usually tw*tish Murray piped up "well there's nothing especially Christmasy about a Miley Cyrus album track?" That pretty much ended that argument.
RAtM donated to Shelter , not a charity i would normally give to , but it was better than lining Cowells pockets , oh but i think both Cowell and Rage are with SONY arn't they ?!?! As for Green Day , im really not a fan of that teen angst post punk pap , give me JAPANDROIDS anyday
would have been better if it had been more than one town - where's the one they parade through now. didn't Chicken Shack only reach 15 in the christmas for Diana's charity
I can remember being on rear party once and delivering the mail to the pads wives left 'home alone' when the guys were on Op Banner (N Ireland); if the washing powder packet OMO was left on the windowsill, it meant Old Man Out and the lady was lonely! To be fair they were few and far between and usually Growlers - all shades of life in the forces!
I thought Tigers Fans were a little more sympathetic and a little less cynical. OLM gets my full support - this would be a much more appropriate Christmas No1 and every penny that goes to Military Charities is a penny well spent - Our troops, sailors and airmen need the support!!!
Why is Sideshow Bob in the vid?? Im afraid the best Xmas song is Slade. Saw them at Donington middle of August about 85 time and it still got everyone singing.
I'm not normally a fan of Christmas songs, that's not what this thread was about, I'd be quite happy to download an hour of cows mooing for this cause.
The greatest Xmas song of all time is obviously Fairy tale of New York, 2nd is White Xmas ( Bing Crosby ) All the others are ****.
Fairytale is definitely the best, but Lennon's effort is decent, as is Crosby's(though I prefer the Nat King Cole's version).
Why dont you just donate money to charity directly rather than funding more ****e from the same corporations? You might think you'd supporting something and all your cash is going there but the reality is most music is owned by the same people and you'd be surprised how much Cowell and co makes of stuff that allegedly despise him.
