At least he’s dropped the pretence. He’s been actively focusing on Labour and Starmer for ages now in a baffling attempt to hamstring them when we haven’t even got the other lot out yet. Novara Media are the same. They are taking for granted that Labour will win the election and so getting their attacks in early. Or they are like the likes of Momentum and would rather be “ideologically pure” and remain in opposition than compromise and actually win
Apparently it is estimated that around 111 WASPI women are dying everyday, so it probably means that this will be ignored for as long as possible and will come down to the next government deciding what to do.
I recently saw on social media that a guy from the Netherlands missed out on attending a concert in Manchester because he didn’t have a passport. Pre - Brexit he regularly entered the UK on his ID card, but hadn’t realised that he could no longer do so. It’s probably hit many more.
TBH that's less to do with Brexit and more to do with him not checking the regulations before flying.
I'm hoping Starmer and co will put PR in the manifesto. I think they have to because at the Labour Party Conference in September 2022, delegates from CLPs and trade unions voted overwhelmingly in favour of adopting proportional representation. Apparently the motion is not binding on the party leadership but does commit the party to include PR in its election manifesto.
I'll re-phrase - if the person in question had any common sense he should have been aware he needed a passport. I really have no sympathy for people who just assume things and make no effort to check.

As James O’Brien and others continuously say - most people can’t tell you the Brexit they voted for. And also there are many options and a “Yes” could have meant any of them. It’s why the first referendum should always have been treated as advisory. Or had a more specific proposal made. But lots of things should have happened that haven’t
Well given the whole point of Brexit supposedly was taking back our borders and immigration is the highest it's been for years, this shows, if it wasn't obvious before, that immigration numbers are a political decision. Unfortunately the government don't have the EU to use as a scapegoat now, but hey at least they can use the house of lords (though I still think the hol should be abolished)

We need a 2nd House, but it shouldn’t be an unelected HOL, but ironically the HOL currently seems surprisingly sensible compared to the current government
Lot less populists in the HoL and most of the regular attending Tories are the old school respect the law types, not the loons in the HoC who don't get there way change the law.
I agree for a second house to scrutinise and act as a check to the government. What I think should change is they should be elected but all candidates should be independent and there should be certain criteria (minimum age, probably a maximum age too, years of experience, etc) to run to ensure that all the candidates are experts in their field.
I have long believed that the second house should be made of 100 citizens belonging to no political party, elected every 4/5 years by some form of proportional representation.
