We've recruited better attackers when we needed to recruit actual goalscorers, they are 2 very very different players. We as a club have got it wrong this season in that respect.
Coventry away will probably end up Wednesday 24th April the semi final games not been confirmed yet but allegedly it's Manchester City vs Chelsea on the Sunday and Coventry vs man United on the Sunday
Given we don't have a striker under contract beyond June, the striker role is one that going to have to be addressed in summer, where we should have a little more wiggle room budget wise.
Must win. In danger of falling away from the pack if we don’t pick up wins against sides like Stoke. (Touch wood) Need a striker in from the off as we’ll likely have most of the ball so will need an outlet
Any word on Delap's return? Might just get back at a crucial time of the season, but on the alternative, he won't figure again this season and has played his last game for us.
April if all goes well. But there's a few hurdles to get over yet and man city will are having full and complete say over things. He's doing all he's rehab with them
It would be nice to see him play for us again this season but if I was Man City it would be no ****ing chance
It wouldn't surprise me if we didn't see him again, especially if there's nothing to play for. Hopefully we see him back here next season
Of course they can say, he's there player, the same as we can and have done with our players out on loan, he's doing all his rehab with them and he will only be coming back to us once he's ready ( sure LR said something about that recently ) all serious injuries like this are delt with by parent clubs and they have final say. So you honestly believe a club like man city with the facilities and specialists they have will be letting us decide if he's fit or not. The only say we will have is wether or not LR thinks he's fit enough to start a game or be on the bench. Up until that point it's man city's call *Edit* they'll be lots of conversations between the clubs etc just to be clear, but man city will still have the final say, even after he's back with us, they'll have the final nod as to when he ready for game time in the first team, it'll then be over to LR and our side
If they didn't want him playing they had the opportunity to recall him in January. He is going to be back in 2-3 weeks. LR spoke very clearly on that with Baz. He will return to us once he is fully fit which isn't far off.
Why would they recall him? The get absolutely zero benefit of that and it would cost them financially, yes he will return to us once fully fit, thanks for confirming what I said If that's in 2/3 ( if everything goes ok ) wks then fantastic.
According to HDM our head of performance had a meeting with Man City a couple of days ago to discuss this. As expected not a lot was said regarding time just that he's doing well and they are looking after his rehab as they have better facilities and experts and still.hope to have him back in April but won't be rushed.
That's true but I thought the discussion was if he was back to full fitness then they could decide whether he played. If they didn't want him to play they would have just ruled him out for the season. A rather convoluted song and dance to go through otherwise.
Lol they really wouldn't when they have the final say anyway over him. They would be kissing good bye to a % of the loan fee and then be responsible for his wages again. It would be a stupid decision..... I know you like to think a lot, bit trust me on this one
They could just as easily have ruled him out for the season then. I know you like to think you're right on everything, but trust me on this one. If they didn't want him playing again this season their medical team would have ruled him out for the season and booked him in for surgery. They've worked on getting him back to full fitness as quick as possible because they want him playing. You've said multiple times (maybe approaching double figures!) since his injury that you didn't think we'd see him again this season. We know your view.
