While this is great, no doubt about it. Where we have lacked for me is, adding the right level of experience to these talented youngsters. We haven’t added enough Championship or PL experience to our squad. We have largely got L1 & 2 players in to complement the youngsters, and it has been ok, but not great. People will bang on about money, but plenty of other clubs with smaller budgets than us have had far more success than us in the last 3 years. We simply haven’t spent our limited funds in a manner that has moved us forward.
Gutted. I miss Weimann. It worked out well for him though - doing a great job for a side knocking on the Premiership door …… unlike the sorry shambles of a club that he ‘wasn’t good enough for’. You couldn’t make it up
This Weimann affair has shown Bristol City for what they are and that is a club that has no idea how to run a football club that the supporters want. All of the key people at Ashton gate have heads buried so far up their own backsides they truly believe their sh*t doesn't stink and that superior attitude is their downfall. The biggest problem is that it has been going on for so long now and the stench of apathy will linger long, so how on earth will we ever be able to attract top talent?

Mike I tell you how bad it is when you have held STs for 23 years and are not renewing that says something how far this club has fallen. Just been reading about Danny Wilson sacking-one week SL was backing him after the loss in the playoff final in wales then a week later SL sacks him over the phone when he was on holiday in Spain. DW called him spineless.Sums it up very well.
Sorry Ashton but I don’t agree. If Manning left - or is sacked - then we would probably put Tins in temporary charge, whilst the interview/selection process grinds into action, then ultimately an unproven, cheap, ‘yes’ man would be appointed. That’s why I think we need to hope with everything we have, that Manning turns it around.
Bristol City lost out in seven-figure Norwich City transfer: View Marley Watkins' move from Norwich came with high expectations but the Welshman failed to live up to those at Ashton Gate https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/b...in-marley-watkins-norwich-city-transfer-view/
I've just seen a photo of Weimann and Pearson together with the caption............ 'thank you for everything gaffer. I learned so much from working with you over the last 3 years, not only as a player but also as a person and leader'. I hope that one day that we'll all learn the truth about the removal of Nigel Pearson. Because it can't be about football. The club was together, now it's in shreds again. Much as I'll never understand sacking NP we have like R&W says to keep the faith with Manning, certainly till the Autumn. Wiz I'm pretty certain we were the only club to ever pay a transfer fee for Watkins.
Manning IS a cheap yes man, put tins back to academy, maybe King as temporary manager, ( we’re safe now anyhow) then go and get a proper manager. It’s not idea, but stay as we are and we’ll do well to avoid relegation next season
The most frustrating factor about being a Bristol City supporter is the well known fact that we are dysfunctional in nearly all departments when it comes down to football management. This constant trying to understand what is happening with our club wears you down and given that most on this site tend to believe they have the answers as to how we should improve it is clearly obvious nobody is listening to the groans of dissatisfaction. Our inability to stop giving up late goals that have cost us dearly over the years still linger and I can hear the screams all the way from Canada crying out for some semblance of actual footballing nous somewhere in our camp but the rot still continues. I have tried as best as I can to support any new manager appointed by BCFC but the faith has all but gone forever because it absolutely blows my mind that we are world champs at getting things horribly wrong and it would be nice for a change to see some positive forward thinking decisions coming down from on high. Based on the shenanigans that have transpired this season I truly see us as a strong relegation candidate next season unless the headless chickens wake up to the reality of life and start making good sound choices to tap into the potential of the undying support they have at their disposal. Ignoring the sounds coming from the terraces will only cause more disdain at the way our club is run and I hope they know they need us to prosper.
