That might have been a good idea when we had the likes of Best (though it would have had to be a UK team for him to be included) Mackay, Bremner, Dalglish, Rush, Giggs, Hansen etc to be considered. Now it would still be virtually an England team with shrieks from the hysterical about lack of diversity and inclusion.
Always thought it daft having the union flag at England games, right back to 1966. Saves as the Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish would. Do you think that they were a sensible idea?
My point being there was no outrage back then . It seems it's outrage for outrages sake . The next shirts won't have the same flag on .
I'll correct you there... There weren't people going around describing other people's opinions as 'outrage'...If there is one word in the English vocabulary guilty of being overused and dramatised in modern day discussion, that's the word!(As an illustration you used it 3 times in 2 sentences in your above post).. Perhaps it is you that is 'outraged' at people having an opinion that differs from yours?
People are in an outrage these days because TV schedules are changed, in an outrage over the result of Strictly Come Dancing, an episode of a soap opera… Reason there were Union Flags was because fans started taking the ones with their club names on they took to their clubs European games to England games. Again that was daft because they were there because they had won the English League not a United Kingdom and Northern Ireland one.
I just don't see the point . It's a shirt . I don't see it as the issue it's been blown up to be . Not bothered enough about it I'll let the arguement continue for others .
Only had a flick through this thread So when was the kit released and when did nike announce the “playful update”? at the same time or a few days later?
