Rashford would be my third choice on the left side of attack. Palmer and Gordon (pains me to say it) have had really good seasons and both deserve to start ahead of Rashford, but we're talking Southgate here, so he is certain to start Rashford!

Palmer would be a good call if Rashford doesn't improve

Anyone know what's going on with Ben White? Sounds to me like Southgate is ****ing full of ****.

Apparently he's one of those footballers who doesn't like the sport. So, he's good at it and can play to a high level but has no interest in it.
Holland was asking a few of the players about their league positions, form etc and White didn't have a clue about how Arsenal were doing or their form and he allegedly questioned White's commitment to the game. White too exception to this and asked to leave the squad in Qatar.

All sounds a bit far fetched, unless White was looking for an excuse to come home.

I must admit I just do not like Southgate, so I can't help but hope he and his administration have royally ****ed up.

I don't get the Southgate hatred. He's done a brilliant job for England

Having said that, I'm not really into International football so this is a view from afar

I think he needs to win something with that team for it to be considered he has done a good job. And I don't see that happening as he takes some of the most talented attacking players in world football and makes them look incredibly blunt.

I also just find his moralising to be virtue signalling at best. And I really shouldn't because he seems to express similar morals to me much of the time.

Like I say, I don't really follow anything other than the results so the virtue signalling thing for me is a moot point.
England fans always seem to have heightened expectations around tournaments, but a semi and a final is as good as any manager has done since 1966 - not to say that failure is acceptable, but he seems less popular then celebrated failures like Terry Venables, Sven Goran Eriksson and Bobby Robson

I'd say this summer will be the judge of him - I can't speak for the other teams around, but England seem to have an unbelievably talented squad, albeit relying heavily on 1 or 2 stars and you'd assume they have to be amongst the favourites.

I lost interest in international football a long time ago. Then my son came along. And he absolutely loves it. Was in tears at the end of the penalty shootout v Italy. So now I follow it quite heavily.
Think Southgate has done very well. But some of his selections are a joke!

In Rice, Bellingham, Saka, Foden & Kane we must have one of the best forward 5 in the world. If we can't win something now we never will.

All this palaver about the flag on the collar of the nike England strip has me in stitches. Just been reading reddit threads with people on both sides of the entirely nonsensical argument pulling their hair out about it.

    The world is mad.

    Ridiculous mate.

The shirt is immaculate. Proper England kit.

It’s a nod to 66 and matches the away kit, as a feature through the whole range. People are pure fannies.

People are saying it's a big gay conspiracy which is my favourite criticism to this point.
