Jimi Hendrix. Anyone who doesn’t put Jimi top of the list is a tone deaf spanner, obvs. After that, it’s down to personal taste, but Jimi rules supreme. All you have to hear is is two or three bars and you know it’s him; no imitator, and there have been many, ever came close. So; Hendrix R.L. Burnside B.B. King Jimmy Page Wilco Johnson

Hendrix was amazing no doubt - I went for those that I was old enough to appreciate in my formative years rather than any historically ... Of the latter I'd also give a shout out to Muddy Waters ... One that I omitted and, in hindsight, would get in my top 5, would be Brian Jones of the Stones ... genius on stringed instruments ...
Hendrix was ****e. Just played any old crap that came into his head and all the junkies that lapped it up didn't even know what ****ing planet they were on let alone recognise what utter **** he was playing. And neither did he. Utter ****ing ****. Still, at least he didn't last long.
