Well we helped the twats a few year ago by spending a daft amount on a ****e player with a catchy PR song. I remember them getting taken over, debt free..... then learned absolutely zero lessons and went out spending.
Two posters have accused me of jumping on people, deriding other posters and ranting at them about this thread. I've asked for some evidence of that as that's quite a serious accusation. Nothing so far .... Then Bob the Macken has asked me for proof about Ipswich spending more than they earn and asking for the contact details of my friend who I discussed it with. I had to explain I can't be giving out a friends number to strangers on a chat forum.
You were out of order when you were suggesting Chunks wasn't a real fan. You were out of order when you were telling people their posts weren't contributing anything and for them to **** off. You were out of order to suggest people are wrong to want basic things in the stadium such as a working PA system, hand dryers, toilets. You are out of order to constantly act like you are a better fan than a lot of other people. The way you deride threads is that you make it impossible for others to say anything.
It's a ridiculous as you mentioning games from years gone by as some sort of badge of honour because you stood in a piss filled toilet in Shrewsbury in 1983. Then you bang on about how great our club is and mention teams like Ipswich as the devil to justify it. Your constant posts about "flex in the model" and the snide comments about people who that phrase means they mean spend a fortune or can't justify it. You and others may not see a lot wrong with that you post, but in my opinion it stifles conversation and discussion
I've never said I'm a better fan than anyone, that's absolute nonsense. I'm proud of my support, I'm a good loyal supporter who also supports other supporters as much as I can ... if that makes me a bad person then I really don't know what to say mate. The people who know me, the people I travel with and those I help with tickets, travel, accomodation, etc, all know me and respect me as a good supporter. Do you really think I also need the approval and admiration of a bunch of faceless strangers on a chat forum? And lastly, if people are polite with me I'll be just as polite back ... ... my responses to Chunks were perfectly polite.
You're just as bad yourself man. You disagree with people all the time and bang on about your support and your job like a badge of honour. Yes I believe that people use 'flex' instead of 'spend' ... ... good grief, you really can't take a bit of banter can you. Am I not allowed to laugh about matches, from the old days, with other people who were there. Quite a few have enjoyed the Watford Quarter Final thread, it's fun, you should try it.
As for support i go to games with my dad and cousin and the lads from the branch. Something I am proud off and means a lot to me. If that's a badge if honour then i wont mention them again
You're always going on about your support, your branch bus, your job, etc ... ... it's what people do. FFS man, you really get wound up over nothing. So i ramble on about Sunderland matches over the years ... ...it's a Sunderland football forum, what should I be talking about
It's you that started the argument that you said you didn't want. Yet here you still are. It seems you like dishing it out but play the victim if you get any back. Tough luck mate. My responses, one here, were perfectly reasonable and polite. You've just brought your obvious grudge here, using comments on other irrelevant threads, and gone off yet again.
Didn't realise my job, branch or support where taboo subjects. I wont mention them again. As for being wound up, if comments on here from people like you wound me up it would be a poor show. Guess your post shows what forum really is, shame really
Can we all just agree I'm the worst supporter on here. Haven't stepped foot inside the stadium since 2014.
My responses, one here, were perfectly reasonable and polite. You've just brought your obvious grudge here, using comments on other irrelevant threads, and gone off yet again.
In this thread you have said the following; "no wonder the place was so quiet, on Saturday, if people are fretting about the standard of the PA system." "I'm well aware of that, as I've said I'll go along with it all even though I think it's making things worse by 'improving them'." "If people value hand dryers and Kylie on the PA more than a genuine atmosphere I don't mind ...... but I'm entitled to think it's shyte." You called the ground improvements a scheme which won't last and compared the upgrades to ****ing cheerleaders. Why are you belittling people who just want the ground to be better?
I'm not the only person to say the atmosphere at the SOL is poor, it's regularly mentioned. I believe it suffers from the music being played, especially during the build up. I didn't say the ground improvements won't last, I've praised them and welcomed them. My first comment, on this thread, was to say everyone would benefit. Seriously there seems to be a situation where a few people either can't detect a bit of sarcasm and banter or just can't handle it. I go to matches with people who constantly take the piss and mock each other over football and their various opinions. If you find me so offensive that you think I do nothing back attack and deride people just pop me on ignore ... ... there are plenty, on here, who can handle a bit of pisstaking, me included.
