Pandur def has a future with us I can see why hes not playing in the first team right now with a playoff push But i expect he will start next season as number 1
The difference between our regular starters was very stark Christie is done Traore Sharp Connolly Woeful Doc limitations are clear I hope jones is not injured As we cant afford to miss him and greaves
I do think this is a fair point. It seemed like the game was very much hyped up beforehand, and only when it started and we (inevitably?) struggled did all the talk switch to fitness, useful runout, etc. Perhaps we should've expected a low-key game to go that way, but if that was the case then I think hyping it up was probably a mistake. The last thing this fanbase needed was to tune in and see us fail to score against another supposedly crap side.
I think it is weird how much stick he gets from a fitness point of view. People are obsessed with his brittle toe, which I think has seen him miss one game all season. He gets ****ed up by a buffoon of a goalkeeper and somehow that's his fault too. Certain other players might have ensured they weren't in a position to take that hit. But that said, I think as a player he's just a bit limited. He's a goalscorer and his energy can be very effective, but in tight spaces or holding up play he really struggles to not lose the ball, and that seems to be a big part of what our attackers have to do lately. Maybe that's recency bias from me, because he was definitely more impressive last season and at times earlier this season, but whenever he's played lately he just seems easily defended by physicality or crowding him out.
I have a feeling the squad (total squad) will be unrecognisable next season irrespective of the division.
It needs to be The gap between the a team and b team is huge As much as i love him Players like doc dont really cut it anymore even as a backup
I agree with that, but what we need to do right now more than anything is score goals, so if he’s fit and there’s not a problem with him he should be playing.
I disagree. I think Doc will want to leave but you need players like him in the team that can come in at a moments notice and give a steady performance in several different roles. Doc hasn’t disgraced himself in any of his first team appearances this season and would continue to be a useful squad player and get appearances if he’s happy to continue with that.
I've been told by someone at the club that we definitely have to sell (Jaden & Jacob) in the summer. Acun has gone all out this season but next season we have to cut back or sell for big money due to FFP.
Yeah, it’s a shame but the money generated can be reinvested. Think both have proven they can play at a higher level. Profit on both can only be a good thing and their progress will hopefully be a beacon to other young players who want to build their careers up away from bigger clubs.
I think that player will be Slater next season. We’ve seen how versatile he is, there aren’t many positions that he wouldn’t be able to slot into at a push and make a decent job of it.
I think next season will be a better push. I don’t think Sheffield United or Burnley will push for the top end, their morale will be at an all time low. Whoever the third team is maybe, unless it’s Forest. I think us making the playoffs now is going to be a much tougher ask, we’re now relying on Norwich slipping up, which given their momentum and our form doesn’t look likely. That being said, for me it has been a good season: and hey, you never know what might happen between now and the end.
