Ive heard that we have met at least 1 candidate, but i havent been given a name. He is employed currently but not been told anything further The guy that has told me isnt contacted to the club but was told by an agent friend who represents this person. Said he cant give me a name at the minute and said it was only an initial meeting
Good to know (I always suspected anyway) that they are meeting candidates etc... but have put Dodds in until the end of the season so they don't have to panic and rush the decision!
He done well at Molde with a relatively young squad, he done really well at Man Utd under difficult circumstances, Cardiff is a blot but he was working under a lunatic Name a coach who hasn’t had a poor record somewhere mate, they all have a tough time somewhere. He would be loved here I reckon, I can remember we kept being linked to signing him a few years back
The club is much better at keeping things 'in house' these days aren't they'. My info has also come from someone not connected to Sunderland, not even football or journalism. I used to have a mate who was at a top betting organisation. He knew lots of really good info but he'd sometimes deliberately give me, and other people, duff 'info' knowing they'd blab
Fair enough I realised if you answered you would narrow it down to about 3 you could be talking about. Cooper, Still, Solskjaer. Don't know enough to prefer any to be honest. Just hope for a season or two of calm waters!
And anyone who doesn't have a poor record somewhere or have questions about their ability would be not on our radar as they had bigger opportunities!
In all honesty I've only posted for a big of fun because the forum has been a bit tense and really negative. I've pm'd the only name I've been given, to a couple of people, so if I can post anything in future it gives it a bit of credence ... if that makes sense. Now that Dodds has said we're interviewing I can mention that but not much else. The problem with recently sacked managers, like Cooper, Potter, Rooney, whoever, is that they're still being paid most likely. Those payments may well stop if they take a job. For Cooper that would be quite a sizeable amount.
Just read an article on BBC about Greg Halford's struggles with autism in his career as a footballer and Keane was referenced as taking an instant dislike to him and immediately getting rid. Didn't make great reading.
His lack of empathy for one of his players having a heart attack should tell you all you need to know!
Ferguson wasn't renowned for his sentimentality tbf I don't see how Keane could work here but, tbh, the whole situation if a minefield ... ... I really wouldn't want to be responsible for making the choice.
Just looked that article up. Very interesting that. I mentioned Hashtag Utd on the stadium thread yesterday, he plays for them now.
He has one of the worst debuts or early performances I have ever seen at the SOL. Looked like a pub player.
