The worst thing is I think you're right ! They are more likely to sell the likes of Botman isak or Guimareas and keep the underbelly of absolute **** that's been ruining the club for almost a decade.
That’s not why I think he won’t be sold. I think you have to give the club some credit. The progress has been monumental since the takeover and we cannot question the investment. You have a situation now where we have spent what we could. They have done all they could. This is now the pinch point of the plans. I think they will come good.
There's a lot to do and mistakes must be avoided this Summer. It's nearly April and there's no DoF in sight, which is worrying. We just need to do a Jan '22 and not a Summer '23.
Legally I don’t think we can appoint a DoF until our old one is gone. This is where the 20m pound question comes in. Manu can be clever: they want him. But they can’t have him. But at the same time we can’t replace him until he is gone. Can you have two DoF at the same time?
I’m Not sure we can do that. If your put on gardening leave and they replace you with a like for like replacement then I think that may be breach of contract. I think it could insinuate that the position you filled has been replaced and thus the lien you have over the job position could be deemed terminated. I don’t know is anyone here contract law specialists? I think there is a clear reason why we have not appointed a DoF replacement and this may be it?
I think we haven't found one. It's only a breach from the club if he was made redundant and we had a direct replacement. But he can be on gardening leave and we can still hire one.
I don’t know if legally you can hire a replacement when someone is on gardening leave. Honestly that’s me being very stupid possibly?
That's typically if you make somebody redundant and say their role isn't required any more and then go and hire a like for like replacement. If somebody is poached from you/quits, then you are within rights to hire a replacement during their garden leave period.
Oh please, please, please be true... "Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has made England manager Gareth Southgate his top choice to replace Erik ten Hag in the summer, and would like a decision from the 53-year-old sooner rather than later." (Star)
Love Longy but could see him being sold in the summer - if someone like Leeds will offer £20m for him and we have Miley and Anderson coming through who both look as good if not better long term prospects, then taking into account we may not have any European football next year, therefore no need for HG players he isn't an absolute vital cog in the engine at present as 5th choice and would free up playing time for the younger players. Problem is though, Joelinton still not signed his contract (as far as I'm aware) and Bruno could be sold so he'd go from 5th to 3rd choice at which point there's no chance he goes.
