This is what you said, "I am at a real crossroads in my supporting life and to be honest struggling with football in general."
I admit it mate, I despair when people start attacking the club over the quality of the internet connection or the quality of the concourse catering ... ... if that makes me a dinosaur then I'll have to learn to live with it. Football was a game for the working man when I grew up in it, if people feel they're elevated from the working classes that's fine ... ... it doesn't mean I have to care about the same things they do or make my views less valid.
I was talking to Noz, not you. You've just said to me, "OK that's me done, can't be bothered with you and your high and mighty attitude." You've also just called me a bellend. Either that's you done or you're going to carry on stalking me and commenting on what I say to other posters. What is it, are you done with me or are you going to keep this up?
Like you don't jump into conversations. **** me you really are precious. As for stalking you, then no but you post a lot despite not knowing or wanting to understand a lot. Last time I checked this was a message board where people could comment. Do you actually understand FFP and PSR? And what it actually means to the club?
You said you'd done with me and backtrack in a few minutes ... .... backtracking seems to be all you're good at. You've just called me a bellend, that's the end for me .... please do the same if you can manage that.
This is it. The club NEED to maximise revenue and for me the key is getting fans into the stadium early. The concourse is a pretty grim place to be so it's no wonder people turn up with a minute to kick off and the club make no money from them. The last thing I want to do on a matchday is stand in the concourse with a flat beer, barely any food and out of order toilets. If the ground is better equipped fans will get there earlier and SPEND MONEY which leads to the club being able to put that money into the playing staff. Nobody should be against this, and everyone should see this as an absolute priority.
I've posted 4 times my reasons why I am at a crossroads. Not quite sure how many more times I need to justify an opinion to someone that sees one way and one way only. For the second time of asking do you understand FFP and PSR and the affect on the club?
You've just called me a bellend and said you're done with me. That's the end for me, no going back from that.
Thank you for understanding. There is so much we can discuss about raising income, but on here it honestly feels worthless even mentioning it as its not like it was in 1974
I really don't believe it'll make much difference tbh, same as people staying after the game. Clubs have tried all sorts of schemes and they rarely work ... ... most people arrive as late as possible and leave as soon as possible. A crowded concourse can never replicate a local pub with a good atmosphere and a bunch of away supporters. The extra money for pies and pints isn't significant in any way imo.
I'd love the club to look at extending the concourses outwards, create seating areas to get people in, where they can sit and meet up. I appreciate the local pubs and clubs need the business but would it really hurt if people left an hour earlier and spent that time in the ground? Better food, decent drink (both soft and alcoholic) somewhere to sit and the group I go to games with would be there
I am ignoring you, it's you that said you'd done with me then tried to start another conversation. I'll talk to whoever I like.
For someone ignoring me, you have a lot to say. Care to explain to the masses how FFP and PSR works and how critical money making is?
I know every penny counts mate, I'm not denying that and I'm not a dinosaur ... ... just humour me and I'll spell out what I think. How much would it cost to provide better facilities around the ground, with catering, bars, staff, etc? How much extra would that bring in and how long would it take for it to break even? And what happens if people don't arrive any earlier, what part of our budget does the expenditure come from? The lads I meet, at the SOL, drink in town and arrive 10/15 minutes before kick off btw.
You’d think there’d be technology in 2024 that could make red seats that don’t fade. Mebbies there is, but we’re unwilling to shell out the cash. Bart
Unsure how much it would cost but it wouldn't be close to the amount of money they would generate. Why do you think they are doing it? Do you think the club are wrong for doing it? Unlike you to disagree with a club strategy. Frankly though, you aren't the target audience for this. People have routines set in stone because the pub has always been a better option than the ground before the game. The target audience is the next generation, the kids who need to be the future fans of the club need to be engaged with not ignored like they are now.
