After some advice. Am getting an Electric Car next month. Looking at EV chargers to be installed at home. Seems as though there are loads of different types (and costs)

Anyone got an EC who can offer advice? Anyone know a local installer in North Tyneside?

We have one by podpoint mate. We are in the midlands but sure they are national. We got a great install service from them and touchwood never had a bother since. About 4 years in.

Thanks mate. Podpoint was the one I was looking at. Prices seem decent. Just not sure whether to get the one with or without the cable - I assume cars come with the cables already?

We had the cable mate, just easier all round. Car had one too. I think the one with the charger is longer so we dont have to park really close, although it doesnt really matter tbh. We also got one that was lockable, I had a vision of folk parking on my drive all day charging up whilst I was out - bit daft in hindsight.

I had pod point for my ev as well, didn't get the cables from them as I didn't fancy them being out all the time.

I have a BMW active tourer plug-in hybrid. Does 40-50 miles on electric which covers 95% of my journeys. Plugs into a normal socket and takes 2-3 hours to recharge at 2kwh after a 10 mile journey. Longer journeys I switch to petrol, so no recharging anxiety.
    I love it.

Ev's are stupidly quick off the mark. I had the electric Kona and in sport mode it was like lightning pulling away

Another vote for podpoint. Have the MG4 through salary sacrifice at work.

Take a look at Octopus energy as well - they do 4 hours of reduced charging at 9p per KW/h every night from 12:30-4:30 am. Also can highly recommend getting an electroverse card and linking it to your octopus account which allows you to charge to your octopus account while using public chargers.

I can refer people and i think we both get £10 credit for the referral - if anyone wants one PM me.

Annoyingly I just switched providers in Jan, so will cost me £150 to exit and join Octopus. Just trying to work out if the savings will outweigh the exit fees
