Great news and shows KLD is still definitely interested despite what some have said. Knew about the pitch but not the other stuff which is a massive investment.

Just to play devil's advocate but the rumours of a 10 million loan, could they be true to pay for this? Not sure. Hope not as the usuals will use it to condemn the club.

My first thought too. Canny way of not responding to the rumour mill, while at the same time squashing speculation.

Of course it doesnt definitvely mean he isnt looking to sell. Capital investment like this will go straight to the balance sheet as assets. Arguably he could sell next month and get this back. But in reality it looks like he is still motivated by us.

It's also a wider plan with the city council and Sunderland BID.

Let’s hope it can quieten some of the noise down. I think it’s a well planned out statement to quash some of the rumours out.

Aye. I’m presuming it’s the away end - that is the ‘upper’ after all.

I think there must be a rule where the away end gets safe standing if the home end does. Off the top of my head Liverpool, Mags, Derby and Bournemouth all have it in both the home and away sections. Strange.

Maybe. But maybe they have to offer to away fans as equal opportunities to the home fans ?

Had a feeling that the £10 million to whatever higher figures that were being banded about might include capex, though had no proof of it.

On a £30 million turnover (which is where we'll be at give or take) gives you a monthly of £2.5 million. Some may still to be cover cashflow commitments for a month or two, but the rest may be earmarked for this announcement.

Still no documents lodged at companies house afaik
