One big positive for me, had we progressed, it would likely be city in the final and I wouldn't want there to be the chance of losing Klopp's last game with us to them at Wembley. That's not the send off we want for him.
what I said pregame was of course it will be closer, this is a big tie for utd, they are top 6, it's at their place and it's on TV. the first 35mins are not a shock but you could see we were not right. virtually no press from the off.l, nobody bursting a git to get out to rb sloe and shut thst down but we stuck in and got back in it but we really then stopped playing. we said the dame about city against us. they had a lead and started ducking about in the middle of the park not really trying to score again and they paid for it. we did too. it's really that simple. we stopped playing and gave ourselves every issue.
That's not what I said. I'm looking for a positive from the situation yesterday. I found one. I would fancy our chances at Wembley against anyone.
Yeah,if that had been the league game it would be a total and utter disaster. It was a game we should have won but didn't,credit to MU for throwing the dice late on. I'm not going to start laying in to players,Nunez and Elliott made mistakes but they are dog tired and have given everything. We learn from every experience, good or bad. So,we rest up and prepare for the run in. We have bigger fish to fry.
I'd say the 1st half-hour was United's, not just 15 mins, and had they got another then to go 2-0 we couldn't have complained, and we wouldn't have got that back either IMO. But that 2nd half period between 45 - 80mins we were just arrogant and entitled IMO. Nothing to do with being tired, as Jurgen seemed to be saying. And as I've said in another post, had we had a younger Bobby in those 5-on-2 breakaways instead of the ****ing gormless Gakpo (don't mean to scapegoat though) then I'm convinced we would have killed them off. BUT, credit indeed to United for doing what we did to Chelsea in the LC final - the odds were all against them but they BRAVELY threw the kitchen sink in the last 10 mins of the 90, having 8 up and 2 back (and one of those was a self-crippled Fernandes). That we had no legs in extra time is irrelevant - we didn't need be there. So the narrative now is that we go there next month and hammer them, then onwards to not lose another game all season on our way to winning the Prem and the Europa in a glorious finale in Dublin. Yeah - not if we get into the ring and try to spar our way through every bout without throwing a killer punch it won't be. We still have too much of a weak chin and are prone to a sucker punch ourselves to try and play like the far superior team of 2019/20. We're not as good as we think we are, but we can still win those last two trophies IF we go back to trying to just keep scoring as many goals as we can for the rest of the season.
Can you please explain why you should have won the game? As I’ve said before, many of you are throwing your arrogance around by claiming you should have won the game as though you were entitled to it before a ball was kicked. Yet, you lost a game that still hurts your manager. But you’re all running around claiming you have bigger fish to fry. What many of you miss is that football is as much a psychological game. To suggest that yesterday’s game was just a pointless game in the grand scheme of your big ocean is probably a far cry from the truth.
Well if you'd bothered to actually read the entire thread rather than just jumping up and down after the game you might realise that not everyone said it was a sure thing. the facts are exactly as per what happened, you could have been 2 or 3 up on a half hour and then proceeded to implode. you were gifted two equalisers by some pretty rank play and then a winner too boot so why not go enjoy that with your mates rather than trying to wind people up? or is it the fact you cant enjoy it without giving it large?
........mate,hang on a sec......yesterday we were still in 3 competitions.....the FA cup comes a distant third in comparison, thats the way it is.
You can also look at it from the view that yesterday you were going you win them all. But today, you’re not as invincible! Plus, I'm a massive blend so there's always that
Apart from Diego and the odd appearance from Treble, we've not seen Man Utd fans on here for months. Yet, here's this prize **** popping up all of a sudden, anyone would think they've just got the result of their season Enjoy it whilst you can mate
Get real! No one cares on the United forum. It’s a long road for us. But look at this thread and all fifteen pages of it. One would think you’ve just lost an international World Cup final to Argentina. I think it hurts you far more than it bringing us a semblance of joy because we know the team can’t be consistent to save lives.
If so that will be the 2nd champions league they've won during the 2 year ban they got from uefa that they dodged. Jokes
I think we should all be more worried about the ****ing tool that threw a flare at Old Trafford which landed in the wheel chair section. life ban is too good for him
