Once went into the lead We dominated and should have won but didn’t. We lost, nobody died, good experience for the younger players. Now onto the league and Europa.
There was complacency in our players and Klopp in the 2nd half. In the later stages of 2nd half they looked that they were just waiting for the final whistle to blow as they thought we had already won and were at wembley in the semi. We definitely gave away that match rather than Man Utd winning it.
you could tell they were ****ed. there was no control. it was let's back pass til ot gets to kelleher then hoof it down nowhere near our big man amd give it to utd. the midfield was out if its feet in the 90mins never mind 120. normally you'd see vvd shouting move over and the ball would move around in some measure of control but we were not even trying to attack.l second half. imo we went too strong v sparta midweek amd it bit us today. szobo wasn't at the races at all. he had 90 then. same for salah. not at the races. endo amd macca were out on feet. but off a corner all Elliott and endo needed to do was ****ing head it back in.

I stated I wanted certain players to come.on if you look back. I wanted very carefully controlled.minutes. what we got was an extended training session but knocks etc left players on too long imo.
Well... In fairness, I thought that had they scored another in the first half hour the tie was over: and had we got a third when 2-1 up, and with the plethora of chances and situations we had, then we'd have easily won. But if your aunt had balls and all that... No scapegoats, but I have to say - Gakpo was brought in to replace Bobby, but if the Bobby of four years ago was on that pitch in the second half we'd have got four by 90 minutes, never mind 3. Breakaway and judging the killer pass of the right weight were his forte. Gakpo and Elliott (and Nunez too, truth be told) just never look confident in those situations. Ah well., if we were going to go out of one of the three trophies we were left in it's best it's this one. Just not to those ****s though - and not like this.

It was a fine win for you, and you deserve it for rolling the dice and giving it a go in both the last 10 minutes of normal time and again at the end of extra time. Wasn't trying to be arrogant. But we had at least three breakaways of 5 onto 2 - I'm just saying that had Firmino rather than the uninspiring Gakpo been in those moments we wouldn't have ****ed up the final pass so often. BUT - I did concede that had you got a second when one-nil up that you'd have probably gone on to win it. And, of course, Rashford should have gone on to win it for you in the 90 minutes. Fantastic tie (for the neutral), and you deserve your win. Nothing arrogant about that mate, just think that if you think of yourself as a special team (and some of us do about Liverpool) then you shouldn't trip over the ball several times when it's easier to score. But true enough - you missed several good chances too - it's just that nobody ever said you were a special team. Well, not until today when you showed special fight, fire, and desire anyway.
