Sorry butIt's tribal. You hate the mags and bending over for them stings a bit. Its not tribal if you're not from here. People who like it but if you live and work with them , it hurts more.
What a load of bollox

In fairness how have they done since they left, **** really, the club didn't have to tell them at the start of the season their contract wouldn't be renewed this season, but they did, given them a chance of securing their future. That apply to Danny Baath and Gooch ? Who were also told to do one. It's down to dosh I agree with you, but replacements and lack of experience are coming home to roost ain't they ?
You needed to explain this more in the original post. Its been taken the wrong way but you make a valid point once you explained it mate.
I no longer live in the North East so was able to quickly forget about it all and move on but if I still lived in the area (especially areas that are mixed) I'm sure I would have heard about it all the time!
People aren't on about jacking in because of results.
All of the negativity since December has been self inflicted by the incompetent running of the club - they have made staggeringly bad decision after staggeringly bad decision sucking the enthusiasm out of the support as a result, imo.
Well you are one point out and a place out if my league table after 38 games is right, we were 11th and on 53 points. Then when you add that we had only lost 13 at that stage, compared to 18 now, plus last season we all had played 38, but six teams above have played less currently, then yes there is an argument that way too. But the crux is that we got another 16 points in those last 8 games, it would need to be a massive turnaround for it not to be any worse than that. Maybe not falling off a cliff, but definitely tripped over the kerb.I'm not sure being in the exact same league position and just 4 points worse off than on this day last year is 'fallen off a cliff' mind. We've been utter ****e recently and have been for the majority of the season but the hysteria is crazy.
Yeah, I see what you mean. His career trajectory suggests he's willing to take a step back to take a step forward. I'd definitely be happy if it was him. There's something about those Man Utd teams and dressing rooms of the late 90's early 2000's that is a little bit mystical to me. Those teams were full of leaders and winners. Solskjaer has an interesting balance of being an elite performer, a great professional but with a temperament and growth mentality that isn't stuck in those years.
I don't consider myself overly negative, more of a realist. Given the direction the club is heading, I believe we have a right to be concerned. We have fallen off a cliff.

Apologies I used the date not games playedWell you are one point out and a place out if my league table after 38 games is right, we were 11th and on 53 points. Despite all the (very welcome) progress made, there's likely to be a fair percentage of the support that are still on their final straw with the club. The effects of fifteen years of constant misery take time to undo. It all depends where each individual's line is. If you're at your wits end, it takes more than a couple of decent seasons.
To be fair you did say on this day, but I’m not letting you have itApologies I used the date not games played
We are worse than last season I think thats a fact, I just don't understand some comments that are being made.
I'm not so sure they will challenge the top 4, it seems to me the FA, PL and EFL are starting to finally get some teeth and are upholding the sustainability rules. The certain fact that Newcastle are now a much bigger club and much more likely to win a trophy is much to blame imo ...
... plus the almost dead certainly we'll probably never challenge the top four whereas they probably will.
Define native prehab. I left in 75 which is probably long before you were born.I disagree. For me it's very tribal and you only get that if you're native to the area.
Robins is a good shout but not sure he’d swap Coventry for us at the moWe don't just need a new head coach imo if we are to kick on upwards.
We need a new structure and Speakman, Dodds and Proctor should not be part of it at 1st team level.
I would definitely be thinking of going for solskjaer or Robins in the new set up.

Does that make me less of a supporter as i'm not in the area? 50 years of snippets in the press, finding anything to hear the news, spending the equivalent and more of a season ticket on merchandise each year.
Get your ****ing blinkers off mate as there are more expat fans than those that live in Sunderland, thats a fact
Not a bad idea but some would see it as provocative.Steve Bruce to the end of the season to help Dodds and co.
Apparently if you don't live local you don't understand and your opinion means nowt. Other than that it's all roseyWhat the actual **** is all the arguing about? WE all want the club to do well, it doesnt matter if you live on the moon. **** it going to have some beer![]()
Thought it might get the thread back on track. It seems we are stuck with Dodds and that worries me. We look like heading into the close season in a steep downward spiral to me. We will end up with the first big player sales, but struggle to recruit the sort of talent we need to challenge. Appointing a head coach now is vital, but obviously not Bruce. Not a bad idea but some would see it as provocative.
