I was just going off your original reply to someone where you said I bet your not from Sunderland ! And to be fair you don't have to be from the area to fully understand the club or be emotionally involved
Double edged sword possibly mate. Horses for courses and that, individual player development to first team coach isn’t natural progression. You may well have made a valid point that he assisted in that player transition
The negativity! People need to man up, they this is only KLD 3rd full season in charge, 1st season promotion, 2nd season of playoffs, and 3rd looks like like a mid table finish. You would think we were Reading the way some are going on
The obsession over the NUFC game is weird, the BCB thing and some still saying we shouldn't of given them many tickets even though they were entitled to ask for 15% is strange. I was more annoyed at how easy we made the game for them on the pitch
I've been thinking a lot about this. Not about the right coach on paper, the one with the perfect statistical win record or one that aligns with Speakman and "the model". I realise this isn't the best way to pick the next coach and most people won't agree. I'm basing this on the persons personality and the level of excitement I'd have at their appointment. I want Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
I don't consider myself overly negative, more of a realist. Given the direction the club is heading, I believe we have a right to be concerned. We have fallen off a cliff.
I find it really confusing. Horrible season given the excitement of the two years prior but the doom and gloom is strange to me.
I've got one like that. Based on listening to him talk tactics and listening to coaches I know talking about him talking about tactics... I want Thierry Henry.
Well said. I sit in the north stand and wasn’t happy about being moved but reading this thread I’m now feeling outraged that I’m no longer outraged.
I know our recent form is poor, but some are going on like we are a disaster of a club. All this talk of giving up season tickets because of the Newcastle game, just don't get it. Things aren't that bad, just need to get the right manager in charge.
I'm not sure being in the exact same league position and just 4 points worse off than on this day last year is 'fallen off a cliff' mind. We've been utter ****e recently and have been for the majority of the season but the hysteria is crazy.
Yeah, I agree. I guess the concern comes from if you believe those responsible are capable of finding the right manager. It will be a defining moment for next season.
The rumoured way he carried on at Monaco would put me right off him. Could all be bollocks but it would very much scare me.
You needed to explain this more in the original post. Its been taken the wrong way but you make a valid point once you explained it mate. I no longer live in the North East so was able to quickly forget about it all and move on but if I still lived in the area (especially areas that are mixed) I'm sure I would have heard about it all the time!
Despite all the (very welcome) progress made, there's likely to be a fair percentage of the support that are still on their final straw with the club. The effects of fifteen years of constant misery take time to undo. It all depends where each individual's line is. If you're at your wits end, it takes more than a couple of decent seasons.
There's something about those Man Utd teams and dressing rooms of the late 90's early 2000's that is a little bit mystical to me. Those teams were full of leaders and winners. Solskjaer has an interesting balance of being an elite performer, a great professional but with a temperament and growth mentality that isn't stuck in those years.
