I would have gone for Armstrong against their decimated back line.

Before his suspension Colback was playing great, essentially I'd say our core 3 midfielders when playing well could all justify their place. I just hope Colback keeps his head today. I'd have gone Armstrong but maybe he'll be better served coming off the bench, just give him more than 5 mins please Marti.

Shocking defending. Their man played the ball square to Andersen just outside the D. Shot saved but they look shaky.

 

Big chance for Andersen, went straight down the middle unfortunately.

 

That was poor from Andersen. He’s got enough ability to have put it away. Nice start but you know how it goes when you don’t put the chances away. They’ll grow into the game.

 

We started this way against Boro.

Anderson makes a lovely, clean tackle, free kick for Sunderland.

 

Unless it’s an infamous one like Stroud I can’t remember many. All just fat blobs from Orpington or Ashton-under-Lyme.

 

We’re giving them confidence.

 

These constant short goal kicks are annoying. Rarely result in anything other than us being under pressure in our own third.
