Apart from anything else, like his failure at Stoke, reappointing Neil would almost guarantee bad PR and fan reaction and that's the last thing we need after the meltdown over Beale. I think the next appointment will be someone who fits our criteria and who won't be criticised before they've been given a chance.
It will be the same as normal, "Erm, the group trained well we are all focused, erm Mason has been banging them in, we have picked up another 3 long term injuries, Cory is back out on the grass............................................................... dribbles on for another 15 minutes
The funniest thing I ever read about Roberts (who I think is one of the most skilfull players we have ever had) get the ball to Roberts, he will beat a player 3 times then dribble it up his own arse
Where has this new coach imminent come from? I have been hoping the club would act this week. Be great if they are.
There was a helicopter landed at the AOL and talk about interviews ... ... plus, we really do need a coach imminently.
If it was me in charge I'd certainly be considering making an appointment now given the recent form. It's whether we can get someone we want long term or a firefighter.
I don't think there's a fire tbh ... ... I'm just hoping we get someone in to be involved in squad discussions and start pre-season ASAP.
I'm getting all excited about the prospect of a new Head Coach. It would be good if it was someone high profile enough to give everyone a lift but it's more important it's the right person. Whoever it is, I hope they stay for a decent length of time- 5 years or so. Having said all that, there probably won't be an appointment until the end of the season now.
Hopefully by now we have several targets. Those who we'd want to stay for several years and a couple of 'oh ****' options in case something unexpected happens. Dodds is proving that he's not an 'oh ****' option unfortunately.
Perhaps the club might purposely let something leak and see what the fans response would be, especially if it justt a short term fix. However I do hope its a long term plan and we have never heard of him before, Haha. That way we can,t slag him off before he even takes the squad in training. Serioulsly we need to get this right this time. Fingers and everything crossed.
That worked well with Beale - almost universal negativity from fans against his appointment and speakman goes ahead anyway with his coaching masterclass supacoach who turns out to be a shockingly bad appointment to nobody's surprise in the fanbase.
Maybe the fans shouldn't have been so negative. The added pressure won't have helped and if he'd been left alone to get on with his job, we might not be in the situation we are now. Could you perform your job to the best of your abilities knowing thousands of people who know comparatively little about it are calling you ****?
Maybe the fans should have been listened to on this occasion. Beales CV is limited and poor. Rangers 3rd in a 2 horse race - behind st.mirren does not make a stand out candidate for safc. Speakman knew best he thought - only he didn't. Don't go down the fans fault road either - he was judged on what we saw at the games - poor management, poor man management, poor reading of games, poor results, poor appointment. Poor model that requires whoever comes in have to put up with speakman signings and having to work with Dodds and Proctor who no doubt report to speakman. It's rotten at the minute unfortunately.
