Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri has resigned after a fifth defeat in six games in all competitions.

Monday's 2-1 home defeat by Udinese left Lazio ninth in Serie A, seven points off the final European qualification place.

It is hard BB - there have been so many postponed games in the National League South, particularly in the South West of England that they are playing catch up now. Taunton played at Worthing on Saturday, last night (Tuesday) at Torquay again at home to Weston Super Mare on Thursday night and travel to Eastbourne Borough next Saturday, so 2 midweek games, and it's the same for Weston. The other difficulty is that these clubs are mostly fully dependent for their income on gate receipts and Taunton have had 5 home games in a row postponed leading to unpaid players and a (now solved) winding up petition from the tax office.

Speaking of Torquay they have been deducted 10 points and now 17th in NLS.

To think they weren't that far away from being promoted to the football league not so long ago.

Both going down would be the same odds as us sneaking 6th place and then beating Leeds in the playoff final

    We can but dream

West Ham giving Freiburg an absolute pasting, thrashing them 5-0 - and their fourth goal by Kudus should stop any goal of the season competition in its tracks. An absolute belter - and all of his own creation.

Reading are in free-fall thanks to their owner. A comment lifted from the WO about calls for Watford's owner to sell up seems accurate.

"While it's tempting to call for new owners now that the team isn't nearly as good as it was - you only have to give a sideways glance up the M40 to Reading, who are plummeting towards league 2 whilst being asset stripped and quite possibly liquidated, to realize that while things could indeed be better - they could also be one hell of a lot worse. This idea that new owners will automatically be better is based on total wishful thinking, not fact."

Friday night French football, and five minutes in a lino is taken ill. They don't have a spare, so the appeal goes out to the crowd for a qualified person to come and run the line. A young man dressed for a night out with his mates arrives on the touchline, and after a brief chat he is taken to the dressing room to be kitted out. I must say he appears to be on the ball, and has not made any glaring errors. If only Fez was there for a moment of glory. :emoticon-0100-smile

I wonder if he will get a match fee? 10 added minutes at the end of the first half.
