For what it's worth, I applaud you all for keeping your feelings between yourselves and discussing them in online forums as opposed to what Blackburn fans are doing with Steve Kean.

I'm not certain it's not happening but I haven't seen any Sunderland supporters kicking off in the style of Blackburn supporters. That's testament to you lot as fans. Nobody would blame you for doing it but you're going about this in the right way, no "Woy Hodgson out", banners ala bindippers, no parades outside the ground ala Newcastle and most importantly no pathetic attendances.

Your owner is obviously a very clever businessman, trust me, he'll do what's right for the future of the club when he deems it absolutely necessary.

Terry its very, very rare to see a Sunderland crowd marching in protest about anything. I've seen it in very small doses at Roker in the 80's when Cowie was Chairman and only once against Murray shortly before he actually did leave at the SOL. It takes a real major incident to get us in revolutionary mode. Even under McCarthys 15 point season, the team where doing their best and the fans stuck by them on the whole.

Despite so protests here on message boards, there is still little actual protest at games. Bruce has enjoyed the very best support despite a horrific hoem record oin 2011 but I think even Sunderland fans will be outraged if we fail to beat Wigan tomorrow. Things will come to a head if we cant depatch the EPL's worst team, AT HOME in a must win game.

If Bruce plays Bendtner and Sess as the front 2 (or more 1+1), then I think the first mistake or bad pass will start the unrest. Bruce is on borrowed time and failure to win tomorrow might not signal his end in the boardroom but it will signal the end of ALL his support on the terraces.

If we see another gutless performance with little passion and we get beat with Bruce looking defeated on the sideline once again for the full 90 minutes then i recon the **** is gonna hit the fan!

No way the fans are gonna put up with not beating the leagues worst team at home, the boos were there at full time last week and this is probably our easiest fixture this season to get our season back on track and if we can do it against Wigan at home then we might aswell pack in!

Its a sad sorry time in my opinion like, thought the depression of being a Sunderland fan was long gone after the last few seasons where we were seeming to improve year on year but now we are moving further and further backwards back into the negative style of play, one pass sideways and 2 passes back then hoof ball straight back to the opposition!

Wanted Bruce out for ages now like, his tactics are ****in pathetic, why havent we sacked him by now?

INWT - we have lost our self belief and thats down to the negative messages and teams the manager puts out every week. He sounds like a defeatist before a ball is kicked and that has seeped through to the fans and players alike now.

We need a manager that believes in himself, the club, the team and the fans. Then we can believe in him.

    This!

We need a manager thats gonna make us believe we CAN challenge for one of the cups and we CAN break into Europe and we CAN have a season where we are not constantly looking over our shoulder at relegation and we CAN stuff the geordies!

Other wise what is the ****ing point really?

Sorry like but i support Sunderland and always will but the reason i keep on supporting the lads is because I DO BELIEVE we will one day win something!

Bruce can **** right off IMO!

Long overstayed his welcome and everyone knows it!

Get rid and get in a manager thats got ambition, a manager thats actually wone sumit and a manager thats got **** all to do with the ****in unwashed up the road!

Almost comes across as if playing at home is a hinderance...

Wigan got 5 of their 6 points to date from their opening 3 fixtures. They were, on paper granted the very easiest of starts with their first 3 games being against the 3 promoted teams, two at home and one away. Their other point came against fellow strugglers Blackburn (who had 10 men) last weekend.

Wigan have 7 losing bankers in a row coming up starting at Sunderland, then they have Arsenal, West Brom (A), Chelsea, Liverpool, Man Utd, Stoke (A) before they meet you guys again at the DW.

Now their manager must know that they have to get at least a point this weekend, so make no mistake about it, they're going to be up for it. I do however, think you'll beat them with ease providing no silly business happens (should probably leave Cattermole on the bench).

It's all relative to stature and expectations of course, but looking at what's in front of Wigan for the rest of this year, things aren't so bad for you. They and Blackburn look nailed on, absolute dead certs for relegation so the rest of the teams in the bottom half need to avoid that last slot and I think even with Bruce at the helm, you'll be fine.

Bruce will get the required amount of points to stay up, but I guess that's not what you're after after seeing your side progress nicely the past few years. I think you're too big to be worrying about survival but that is clearly the matter that needs addressed first and foremost even if you have to scratch this season off the calendar and bring in somebody new to take you to that next level in 12/13.

Oh Terry it's ok, going by "wor Stevie" the season is just starting for us. Makes sense as he obviously hasn't seen his tactics and team selections over the last 3 months.

    Good post mate.

Bruce was quoted as saying 'Wigan have punched above their weight for years'

I think Bruce is living in the land that time forgot. Maybe he should concentrate on what is happening this season.... which is... well, they will have to get awfully heavir to get any lower in this league.

If we fail to beat Wigan then I'm afraid we don't have the luxury of waiting until the end of the season to appoint a new manager.

I find it amazing that when things are going well, the players and management want all the credit for that biut when they are not its the fans that are causing it? O Shea is just another in a long line of players to come here for a beano and ask us to be patient when it goes tits up. I've watched SAFC over 5 seperate decades since the 70's and I'm still waitng John and still patient. 36 bloody years waiting patiently for SAFC to get their fingers out.

    I'm still waiting.

I think our crowd have been superb given the ****e we have all had to watch this callendar year, 3 home wins in 2011 from 16 games and the best we can actually achieve is 7 but does anyone think we will beat Everton, Man City? That realistically leaves Wigan and Blackburn to beat to finish with 5 home wins from 20 games as the best we can hope to achieve?

Thats hapless and absolutley in no way can be described as progress. I fear that when the annual begging letter comes round to get us to renew season tickets, the take up for that will plummet as fans sick of seeing us not win at home decide enough is enough. That means even less money in the coffers and a downward spiral again.

A new brush and fresh ideas could well mean season tickets sales going up and a higher finish in the league. Thats got to be worth thinking about for a club operating on thin budgets these days. 5 or 6 places in the EPL casn mean upwards of an extra 10m quid to us.

I did enjoy writing it to be honest but I won't be laughing if its that close to the truth tonight to be fair kidda.

Here's to a Wigan thrashing today. If its 4-0 there won't be a happier man alive than me.
