Think we're making a lot of the utd game - with good reason tbf. But if its anything like the league game then the attack/midfield will be trying to break down a low block and it'll be more a test of concentration for our defence against breakaways.

Whereas sparta will be at it from the off to try and get an early goal. So I'm all for playing a strong defence to see them off, and then look to rest players 2nd half if all is well

Shame we can't get both games out of the way at once... play on a triangle shaped field that way can field a strong XI and not have to worry about them getting too tired for the next game.

The plus side is that, a draw will see us through. We must not lose.

    That's how I think, but I can see a valid counter-argument.
One the one-hand, if you play a weakened side and they get off to a good start and kill the game then there's no need to bring the big guns on.
One the other hand, if you play a second string and they ship a couple then everyone gets nervous and you have to bring the top players into a less comfortable situation where they have to work harder.
On the other other hand, I think lots of players are better off keeping match fit, and as long as they don't run themselves ragged, they're better off playing anyway. As long as Mo is fit, he should definitely be getting some in.

As long as we don't lose. I don't care because Kelleher should be protected for United game.

we are not that desperate for a rest.

kellehrmer will probably have to sit and watch the Irish flounder about in front of him too.

Once this week is over we are just wondering exactly when alisson is back.

it was supposedly 31st but is sounds 2 weeks more.

    very exciting news.

Carter pinnington has been called up to the europa league squad for the ****s and giggles.

he's been 16 playing 21s and now has turned 17.

Should be decent enough to get us through with the 4 goal advantage we have. Although I can see them scoring tonight.

I thought we’d go strong just didn’t think we’d go that strong.

Seems like Klopp wants the game dead and buried by HT so can ring the changes.

Gomez finally gets to start a game at Cb as well

    Kelleher
    Bradley Gomez Quansah Robbo
    Szobo Endo Clark
    Salah Gakpo Nunez

I agree. I think it's best to start off strong, but I wasn't expecting it to be quite this hefty.

    very strong team

Happy with kids but hopefully we can sub a lot of players off with Sunday I'm mind too.

it is szobo, salah, robbo and endo subs that we need to watch

those 4 should get more than 45 to 60 mins.
