Fantastic thread again RTB, thanks mate!

The rot has to stop at some point and I think the starting 11 will come out fighting for a win at the SOL, so I'm going for a home win to give the lads a lift going into the international break.

    2-1

While you live in hope, I can't see anything other than another defeat.

We have to hope that the injuries force a change in approach, because it doesn't feel like it's coming any other way.

    3-5-2, get after them.

With a decimated defence, I think it's the only approach we can take.

In this case, attack is definitely the best form of defence!

Think we’re almost forced to play the old fashioned way, defends defend, win your duels, just be better than the man opposite you and take your chances

Really tough game, given the defensive injuries. Our midfield hasn’t been as good as hoped but we need a top notch performance from them on Saturday. Hoping that the gradually increasing experience of young players like Mundle and Jobe can help them have big games.

Neil and Styles are two of the more experienced players but they are not the kind of big-presence characters who would be ideal in a game like this. Hume is, a little bit. Can another player or two step up and make a difference?

I’ve said before that a lot of our players came to the club to get matches under their belts so I bet they are looking forward to the challenge. We’ve got to be bang at it for the whole game though, and especially be switched on for the key moments. I hope these lads can take a step forward in this regard, stick together and help each other through it.

I've got a feeling that MD may spring a selection surprise and start one of the under 21's in defence.

Thanks again RTB for another top thread <applause>, I go along with your team selection, injuries have left little alternative, with Dodds & Co. that might be a blessing <laugh> I have gone for a win and think we might well do it despite the odds, but will be more than happy with a draw under the circumstances. OaU slowly slowly.

Im not confident at all but I’m reserving judgment and not making any predictions until I see the starting lineup.

At which point I’ll probably be going ballistic and shouting at my dad in the pub, telling him what I think the starting lineup should be instead. So standard match day :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Will be watching though all being well

Ballard in the Northern Ireland squad for next week, surely can't be too badly injured then?

    Hume Ballard hjelde styles

isn’t idea but I’m far happier with that than the alternative

even a back 3 of Hume Ballard hjelde with Pembele and styles as wing backs could be an option

If he's not fit for the weekend then he shouldn't be playing for them just after it.

Yeah i'd be pissed off if he doesn't feature Saturday and then plays for them. Even if he recovers in time to play for them it's just friendlies, he should be doing his recovery at the AoL.
