Race is becoming the dominating theme of this election ... ... we're on the brink of some serious disorder in which the government will blame everyone but themselves. They need to be calming things down, not ramping it all up.
I think they are ramping it up, security for MPs etc, for political gain... just look at how bad it is, it will be far worse under labour etc.
Well there's the answer for the next person taken to court for racist comments ... ... 'soz yer honour, pint anyone?'
Mark Francois Conservative, Rayleigh & Wickford bringing up chamberlain underfunding the armed forces in 1930's failed to deter Hilter and 50m people tragically died in WWII. With putin, China and huitis (sp) can you assure the house of commons that we are not going to forget the lessons of history and make the same mistake again. Rishi says we must invest with the largest uplift since the cold War waffle waffle waffle.
Sadly we have already arrived mate. Can only hope this is the end of the line and the only direction left is a different one.
Can I just say I’ve had contact in my professional life with a number of jo cox’ family, colleagues and close friends. This kind of language really hurts them, when ANY side of the political side use language like this. People in both major parties have been shot while doing their work. The racism and misogyny is disgusting but that language is the thing that they need to be jumping on more than anything. He thinks someone should be killed because of their black face or beliefs ? That takes it to another level. That is an arrestable offence. Even throwaway language like that is so dangerous because some people act on it. Very worrying and embarrassing that Sunak hasn’t been stronger over this. The money will be given back I’m sure of it - after the accountants have found some to cover it. The state of our politics man. Power corrupts, money corrupts.
Backbenchers lining up Mordaunt... Rishi Sunak has urged Tory MPs to stick with him and see his economic plan through amid speculation about a challenge to his leadership. On Sunday, the Prime Minister told backbenchers that “the economy is turning a corner” and urged them to hold their nerve despite the Conservative Party’s dire poll ratings. Mr Sunak was forced to speak out following days of speculation that Right-wing Conservatives were lining up Penny Mordaunt to replace him. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2024/03/17/sunak-tories-stick-with-plan-leadership-speculation/
