Conceicao strikes me as being a pretty shrewd manager. He got the better of Arteta tactically, given the difference in quality.
Possibly from where we are at now. It will put villa or utd or spurs into the mix. Next year I know we are in the CL, its all but done but getting back into it for the year after is a great unknown. a fifth place slot would be nice then.
he was a good player in his time but looks a jumped up little **** oi nthe sideline. Arteta hasn't looked good there in the two legs and i'd be disappointed if i were them to have not used the emirates advantage to win that well. To have the blunt instrument of havertz up agasint pepe who ran him ragged at 41 and was still going on 120mins is ridiculous.
Pepe drinks the blood of virgins every night - that's why he still has so much energy at 41. He's definitely evil enough too.
Rafa didnt do badly the first time... But man that would be a shock to the system for the players: From warm, always hugging Klopp to Rafa, who by all accounts is very detached and thinks of his team as chess pieces.
Feel Rafa is in the same boat as Mourinho was a good manager back in the day but football has moved on and there tactics and management style don't really work in todays game.
Seen some Newcastle fans talking about Rafa going back there as Sporting Director, don't know where that's come from.
Rafa did great before us and his first three or so years with us... But even before he left us he was beginning to look a little "found-out". He did so much for the club, even behind the scenes, transformed our reserves from a bunch of wash-outs to a youth development operation and modernized the club in many ways... But he certainly wasn't doing as good by the time he left as when he started and he hasn't really captured the same form since. I love Rafa but wouldn't be happy if he returned. Mourinho was always only good short term... He's like a locust, comes in devours everything and leaves behind an empty husk. Uses the clubs money to buy aging superstars and throws out the best developing talent. Wins trophies but it is completely unsustainable attitude and takes clubs years to recover from the damage he causes.
Just watching snippets of the Lineker, Shearer and Richards podcasts and Lineker posed in interesting question... If you could steal one player from another country to play for England instead, who would it be? Lineker said VVD, didn't hear what the others said.
Pepe the lesser was that but havertz was up top and pepe the elder was cb. havertz was ran out after 70mins. worst signing I've seen in a while. in the end arsenal have plenty of goals in the lower half but the big game is now coming for them again v city. let's see what happens.
You’d have to go either Alisson or VVD. The front line is perfectly fine. The midfield has numbers depending on how you play but in theory you have rice Bellingham foden maddison plus players like mainoo jones coming through. Keepers - lack of players there. 3 average ones in Pickford ramsdale and pope. CB - other than stones who doesn’t really play a conventional role for club, lack real quality there. Would also sure up the left hand side
