Do you set your alarm for the morning to get a cheeky meal in before sunrise to set you up for the day? Surprised you’re putting on weight eating 1 meal time a day.
Its the times we end up eating, late at night. I do set an alarm but I don’t have a meal maybe a cuppa and some water…a cheeky spliff even I used have a big meal around 4am but I can’t do it anymore
He was expressing extreme excitement about Ramadan, probably excited it was nightfall so you could eat. At least that's how I interpreted his excitement.
First day of fasting yesterday and managed to give myself a bad dose of the ****s the night before after finishing off some smoked salmon that my Mrs brought out 3 weeks ago. One of the downsides of having an Indonesian maid make your food is that they regard eat by dates as suggestions. So my first Sahur was water only. Thought I would have to stop fasting on Day 1 due to dehydration but fortunately it was a cool day and I had recovered by evening to break my fast with some toast and honey, dates and a banana. Today started with scrambled egg on toast and some fruit but should be back to full eating by tonight. Just noticed start and end of fasting times today in Indonesia and UK are virtually identical to give a 13.5hr fast, but whereas it shortens by 10minutes here it extends by 2.5hrs in UK, over the course of the 30days. Starting to regret booking a flight back to UK half way through now.
Maid wakes me up and I go down to a full meal at 4.00am normally. Has to be more protein rich than a normal breakfast to stop you feeling hungry by lunchtime. Trouble is you don't digest it very well if you go back to sleep after praying so feel **** when you wake up. Got a plan this year to start working after praying and then take an early afternoon nap as I am working from home.
I usually Go round my mate Sham's house for Eid. She makes a ridiculous amount of food for her, her sister and her son that she needs help eating it, and my wife and I are happy to oblige. Yes my friend is called Shamima Begum (no not THAT Shamima Begum, a different one). I know its like a month away, but I always look forward to it. Her lamb curry is exceptional, and she makes her own Samosas.
Might have a cup of tea and a spliff. Then a little while later I might have a glass of water with ice and a spliff. Pizza for dinner.
