Morning all Red just back them mate I have just looked at Meydan and feel I have found a stand out bet in the 11.35 GARBAH is available at 4/1 with Will Hill and I really do think this is fantastic value. He ran once for Clive Brittain going down by a neck to a horse rated in the 90s at the time Blessed Biata pulling clear of the rest of the field. I was watching ATR the other day and seen this horse kicked on way too early by a 7lb claimer- he only just got caught later on but my feeling is if he had of waited he would have won easily. The winner and Garbah pulled around 5 lengths clear of the 3rd. Ahmed Ajtebi takes over today and I really fancy him to go one better here. Madawi is perhaps the danger a highly tried maiden on the flat with Clive Brittain he was rated 92 when last seen for that yard and should be up to taking a maiden soon but may well find this 7f trip on the sharp side.
Quick 10 minute comp - who can come up with the best wording for FFS (apart from the obvious one): Five Fingered Shuffle
I noticed that a few people have put up Kasbadali in the 3m Handicap Hurdle at Newbury and I was one of them. I thought he looked massively overpriced at around the 12/1 mark. I thought he should be nearer 7/1.
yes zen i put him up earlier he won well with a bit in hand lto @ towcester staying on well up the hill finish , i was there that day and he was by far the most impressive horse on show that day and duely went in the notebook, decent step up in company but think current odds are generous. ALso like be definate @ newbury 8/1 and i know that ferdy murphy has been waiting for this ground for capricornus in the 2.55 muss just surprised its drifted backed at 12s this morning but topped up again now its 20s.for my small stake e/w yankee ive done knockavilla @2.55 don just think maybe a change of trainer can maybe reinvigerate this decent horse @`14s have also had a small e/w single on judge davis in the lucky last @ newbury
12.50 Doncaster CHINK OF LIGHT 33/1 Formerly with Andrew Balding on the flat where he had Group 3 form albeit it a distant 5th to St Nicholas Abbey. His only win to date has come on the AW over 11f, which suggests he may need further, however, I am happy to have a small EW wager and hope that he can run into the frame in a race where there are lots of unknown types. 1.00 Newbury YA HAFED 16/1 it should all be about the favourite here, however, im looking for a bit of value and my selection is first time out on the NH scene, however, he has some very nice form on the flat, in particular a hd 2nd to the very useful Mick Channon trained Zain Al Boldan. The stable have a 50% place rate on the NH scene this season and know how to get one ready FTO and is a tentative EW selection. 2.00 Doncaster BEN CEE PEE M 11/4 steps up to 3m today, having won on good to firm the ground will not be a problem and the horse is on the up. LTO he was travelling well when making headway 4 out and the extra 4f should ensure he will be in the mix today. 2.25 Mussleburgh VOSGES 11/4 FTO chasing looked as if he may have just needed the race when fading 2 out over 2m 6f, he drop sback to 2m today and with a clear round of jumping should have enough in his tank to lead from start to finish and put this to bed. 2.45 Newbury OR NOIR DE SOMOZA 33/1 (Bet 365 4/1+ Offer) is an interesting runner from the David Pipe yard, down in grade today and once again over hurdkes. After a turbulent career he has raced with trainers France and the Pipe yard for the lats 5 years, he returned to to David Pipe last year where his first race was the Grand National. He is still lightly raced and has raced in much better company than is on show here today and if at his best could win this easily. Whatever, happens i do believe that David Pipe thinks there is a big race in this horse and is certainly one for the notebook, any market move could be significant but this could be a prep race for the National again this year one to follow for me. 2.55 Mussleburgh CAPRICORNUS 14/1 formerly iwth Mark Johnston on the flat were he had average form, today he is fitted with blinkers for the first time which could make the difference and is a nice EW price. 3.15 Newbury OH CRICK 9/1 the last time he won back in 2009 he ran off a mark of 139, since that win he has seemed to be back in the grip of the handicapper, today he gets back to that winning mark of 139 and could run a decent race at a nice price of 9/1. 3.50 Newbury COUSIN KHEE 20/1, after a good win in a bumper FTO, he failed to flatter in his next two outings, albeit it he was beaten by some very nice types in Class 1 Grade 1 and Listed Company. He is FTO today over hurdles and take a drop in class and is good enough to place at a very nice price. Quote to Topic Quote
Won't be having a big bet on the race RV - it's often a difficult one to call. I do like the look of Blazing Bailey E/W as a bit of a "left field" option - trip and going should suit well, still a bit below his hurdles rating and has shown that if it all comes together on the day he can win off his current mark. Plus King is in form. Of the more fancied ones, it is unusual for Nicholls to be so bullish so you'd have to say 1833 has a favourite's chance and he has left in poor old Neptune Collonges again to keep the weights down. Wymott and Wayward Prince are others with the right profile, but as I said, not a race I will be going mad on.
WAR POET in the 12.50 at Donny 5/2 is available now and he should find this company a lot easier than the race he contested at Haydock last time out on his hurdling debut. His jockey Dennis O'Regan was a guest on GET ON today and was very confident about this ones chances today. As I type he has just gone 11/4 yeeehaaaa
Odddy Blaizing Bailey is an interesting call one of my old favs. I always have just two quid on him even if I don't fancy him to run well, however I was delighted when he bounced back to some good form last season. Not out of it at 40s . Fancy the fav to win it well tbh so he will be my main selection. A certain Mr Stick fancies the good old grey at the top Odddy
nice to see wayward highlight one of my selections! Capricornusis indeed in 1st time blinkers wayward but far more important is the fact that the ground is perfect for him which does make a huge difference to the horse lto the whole syndicate travelled to see the horse run only for the heavens to open midday to ruin his chances drifted out to 20s now but think the horse has definate e/w prospects like you say. knockavilla is also very ground dependant and gets the right conditions for him at musselburgh having had a recent run to blow away the cobwebs for a new yard im expecting a decent run for my money.
Stick fancies SirBarney? Seriously though I feel sorry for Neptune Collonges - I think he is just short of the top table yet rather than finding more nice Grade 2s like the Argento for him to have a crack at, PN seems to like using him to keep the weights down in handicaps for his other runners (Hennessey, Scottish National etc)
