He seemed to yeah, I'm more inclined to believe he had a lucky run than he had some borderline supernatural ability to keep players fit but who knows. I would have thought if his methods were that good they'd be widely known and we'd be still doing them. There was the cryo chamber but I'm not sure how much they actually do.
Not sure if the club have, or would be willing, to invest in a hyperbaric chamber. Been proven to speed up recovery of a lot of top athletes
I thought it was a cryo chamber of some sort, not sure if I've heard of a hyperbaric one. How much do these things go for do you reckon, 100k or something? If so that'd be a small price to pay to return to the injury levels we had under Allardyce.
There’s an idea. Freeze them in between games and thaw them out the night before. Should cut down the training injuries as well.
I’ve no idea on the cost of them, but can’t imagine they would be out of the clubs reach financially. Can help cut the recovery down significantly, first heard of them personally when a lot of strongmen starting using them, forces the oxygen deeper into the tissues or something of the like
They wouldn't pay the cryo. They are not going to pay for Hyperbaric chambers either. They couldn't send players to providers and outsource the treatment, again, that comes at a cost. The physio department and sport science aspect has been something that I have mentioned for a long while. It needs a total overhaul. Maybe a year ago I spoke about this at length on here and got told I was being overly critical. Now again, here we are, with injuries out of control.
To be fair, at this stage of the season I'm not convinced full on training sessions are needed. They should all be at peak fitness so just keep them ticking over with some fitness and tactical work.
I can accept that the club was in a state when Madrox left and that Rome wasn't built in a day, but surely it's obvious that so many things need fixing immediately. It can't be that hard to appoint 5 Project Managers - 1 to look at commercial, 1 to look at the stadium, 1 for Academy infrastructure, 1 for medical side of things and the other for fan engagement. All of them report into KLD or one of his chiefs and start making some badly needed changes to the club. The fact that the speaker above me in the East Stand hasn't worked for about 5 years is an absolute joke. It's small time. Been saying this for ages. Or is it just that KLD/JS won't spent their own money? You look at some of the food offered up by clubs around the country and there we are with our microwaved pies and sad little burgers. It's surely not that hard is it?
A lot of this post will be guesswork and personal preferences. I'm guessing that contracts and agreements were in place and some aspects recognised as poor but not top priority. I'd expect it's all being considered. 5 x £50kpa = a lot I'd rather none of the speakers worked and would never buy food in a football stadium Southampton, BTW, are planning to install internet for supporters ... ... personally I can live without social media for 90 minutes a week.
A while back there was an Echo article saying that the club were looking into all of this stuff. They're taking their time dealing with it, but it sounds like they're aware of it.
Couldn't give a stuff about wifi - my focus is 100% on the game, but a working PA system is (I would have thought) the bare minimum for Health & Safety aspects - God forbid there is ever a fire or a bomb scare at the SOL because the group of us in L4 will be ****ed There are aspects of the way our club is run that are non-league. Maybe it doesn't matter, maybe all that matters is what goes on on the pitch, but to the outside world we are shabbily run and have been for years
Talking of bomb scares, many years ago i went to old trafford with my brother ( a red ) and there was a bomb scare alert over the tannoy. no one moved.
on the last part, gambling although rarely mentioned these days is still a massive issue and concern. The amount of people in the stadium that have one eye on the match and one eye on their "bets" for 90 minutes is huge. Bits of young kids on them aswell. Internet in stadiums will be welcomed by thousands you would think.
That's very interesting. I have mates, of various clubs, all over the country and I don't get that reaction. I usually have praise for the way we're deliberately playing young lads like Rigg. The top clubs seem keen to trust us with their players. Are we any worse than Forest, Everton, Burnley, Sheff Utd, Chelsea etc ... ... I know we're miles ahead of half the Championship. Stoke and Birmingham are a mess for example. Perhaps you live amongst Mags. I see people posting on social, whilst at the game, saying the atmosphere is flat ... ... put yer phone down ffs
