And if you're not driving at this end avail yourself of a bottle of single malt at the duty free and use for medicinal purposes, you know it makes sense

Took the other halfs car in for a service first thing and I took which I thought was a road where I could cut across onto our estate, how wrong was I all three paths were closed<grr> for work on the stream to prevent flooding<yikes> Memo to self when I get call to say it's ready prepare for a hike, it's only a half hour walk<yikes>

I see that the owner of Portsmouth has been arrested by the City Of London police. He is wanted in Lithuania on fraud and money laundering issues. There have been a number of articles over the past few years about money laundering within English football, several concerning Pompey. Just how do some people get through the "fit and proper persons" test? Can we expect a detailed investigation into where people are getting their money from when it comes down to buying a football club as it could take months, if not years for a proper examination to take place?

Unfortunately it would appear that the league is not fit and proper enough to set and live by applying proper fit and proper persons test criteria. It should be pretty simple and could be, a few elements on crimimal record, a few checks on financial security and sources and the imposition of a high capital reserve into a central fund to be invested of course but drawable upon for member clubs use should a problem be caused by a rogue owner, this would also encourage self policing and members not allowing entry to the club of high risk owners for own interest protection reasons.

I have always wondered what the 'Fit and proper persons' test actually involves?

Morning all and a beautiful sunny day in bandit country - hanging a bit today after last nights excesses. I have discovered a new Rum that is now challenging Sailor Jerry for my affections - Bacardi Oakheart is rather good...

Off the the hospital is a bit as Mrs W_Y has to have some tests this afternoon to see if they can find the causes of her tummy aches and pains..

Tomorrow we are going for afternoon tea and Ice Skating at Somerset House - it is sponsored by Tiffany and I have a horrible feeling that they will have a little stall there and Mrs W_Y will "discover" something she would like for Xmas....

Whilst in town I had a call from the garage doing my wifes cars service, they said there are a few issues mainly both sets of breaks are on the minimum, a couple of lights need replacing etc etc. I said can you price that up for me and i will speak to her indoors, 5 minutes later I get the call yes Mr Rae the price for all the work will come to £768 inc vat!<yikes> I spoke to the other half and she decided to look elsewhere for the work to be done, she only drives a 4 year old Megane!

I wa going to ask them for a quote for a service on my Golf but I am having second thoughts!
