Before I start, this is what I would see as a trying to be level headed. Over the past few weeks as we've seemingly spiral down, a word I would use from speaking to many Sunderland supporters on multiple platforms is, Denial. Denial that we're in a bit bother form wise and like it or not looking down more than up and everything will be rosey.Denial that everything will get sorted out in the summer, owner will invest in the summer and learn from a few mistakes. And I don't believe in this "over achieved last season" bit aswell. The table doesn't lie and we had (like it or not) a few better players last seaon including a fit Clarke,to what we have this season, and that's not a slur on any of the lads that's there now, it is what it is. Football both unites and divides.
I suspect there's a lot more fight and team spirit than some people like to believe. They really deserve our support imo, despite the recent results.
Bad mistake yesterday but also a cracking goal. Think that just about sums up his season, some poor moments but shown flashes of becoming an unbelievable footballer. Think we all want to see him managed better and given a better platform to succeed but he's also our 2nd top goalscorer and with Clarke out i'm not too sure we can take that out the team. The lad has nothing to apologise for though.
I agree nothing to apologise for but I know from my playing days if you make a mistake that cost a goal you feel you need to apologise to team mates. All players make numerous mistakes through games he was just unlucky it led to a goal. If we win the next contact it never gets mentioned again. He has been very up and down this season and I really hope in the off season we work on his strength and pace he will need an improvement in both of these if he is to develop the way we all want. There's no question of his technical ability but physically he is still a way off. To be expected though the kids only 18.
If we play him deeper, which is where I think he's best, we won't notice his lack of pace I don't think. But you're right, needs to learn how to use his frame. Has the potential to be an absolute beast.
I reckon Jobe and Neil sitting in with Rigg breaking forward (not as a no10) would be quality. Front 3 of ruysn, mundle and hemir. Should be enough to beat qpr imo.
Personally would go something like Patterson Pembele Hume Seelt Hjelde Neil Jobe Mundle Rigg Aouchice Rusyn I also think Rusyn will be better long term off the left but right now I just want as much pace and flair in the team as possible.
There has been a few times this season he has burst forward and looked like his brother, but they have been few and far between. As I've said, he isn't his brother and needs to find his own way
Yeah I think the comparisons are so unfair, seen his goal going pretty viral on twitter yesterday and the comments were pretty much split between people saying he's going to be as good as Jude and people saying he's ****. As always, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.
No way am I making excuses Lost 3 left backs injured No striker has hit the ground running Centre half’s recruited not good enough Lost midfielders to injury then sold Pritchard and our two wide players injured at the same time We loaned players out and probably could of done with a couple of them Matete Myander Then our new sighing have also not hit the ground running None of the could of been forseen However that don’t take away the fact that our squad At third set are not good enough Roll on next year and see if we can improve our squad
Let's be honest he's not going to be his brother, who's close to being one of the best in the world currently. He will be a premiership player eventually but he needs time and to learn
That's a decent line up, ive said it before , Tuesday when Adil and Rigg were on together we looked dangerous. They were the best 2 players on the pitch, they need to be playing games, Rusyn is definitely our best option up front and especially if we play to his strengths, Adil and Rigg both have it in their locker to play those defense splitting balls he will thrive on
People way over the top in their criticism of him (for a change). He’s 18 he’s had a great season for a kid to me like, just maybe played too much in the wrong place on the field.
