The lad looked very good on occasions in France and even played champions league football for PSG. He was highly thought of but suffered a bad injury and it seems to have set him back a fair bit. A fully fit Pembélé with games under his belt will be a big asset to our club.
I was referring to Pembele's injury using g Huggins as an example of how bad it apparently was. Sadly I think your right about Huggins though, he has no luck at all
At the moment I'm sure some people should be posting 'I hope we don't appoint ********* as manager' ... ... so they can go back later and fill it in.
Ah, right, misunderstanding on my part. Pembele is a good, bad, example of how long it can take to come back from a bad injury
Oh right, well good player but looks like he can never stay fit. If he’s injured again quickly when he comes back, I’d get rid.
Speakman comes across as unlikeable (so I tend to ignore what he has to say) but, as much as we'd all like it, sometimes unlikeable pricks are good at their jobs. It seems to me that there's been a bit (quite a lot) of jumping on him as soon as things start to look even a little bit like he's got them wrong. I think there's a certain element who have convinced themselves, because KLD wants to spend money cautiously, that there is something untoward about him, and this suspicion leads to hostility against anyone associated with him. If a solid Head Coach appointment is not made once the season is over (at the latest), then I think we can question Speakman's attitude on that subject. For the time being, I'm happy to assume that the positions of Head Coach and first choice centre forward haven't been adequately filled due to particular circumstances meaning that the right people haven't been available.
I think he is an outstanding talent. Unreal we got him, but like you say time is everything with him. I am hoping next season is when we see the real Pembele and it could be a treat.
The way I look at it is if we were going to lose 6 on the bounce now was the time to do it, when Beale first came in many said we'd finish mid table and had written the season off, that is probably where we'll end up. I'm just hoping it's because they have a head coach lined up who is at the moment employed, because to me Dodds is making some unbelievable decisions that are costing us games, Adil finally got his 30 minutes in his right position and changed us as a team and we were worthy of a point against the league leaders, then gets dropped. Rusyn finally got a start and look decent, gets dropped and then Hemir is played for 2 games, then he's dropped for ****ing Burstow who isn't our player, is **** and benefits us in no way by playing between now and the end of the season. I know everyone on here thinks they can pick a better team than the head coach, but after the game on Tuesday so many people mentioned the same things about the same players. Yes we have injuries, yes we have a lot of inexperienced players, but I do think we have a team capable of doing much better. Tuesday night the best players on the pitch were Adil and Rigg, they will be lucky if they have played the equivalent of 5 games between them all season. One of our biggest problems is playing the wrong players, or the right ones in the wrong positions
Apologies I'm unsure how to bold or just quote individual lines. Must be as you say that I don't comment very often. It's technically Dodds 4th spell in charge although it's maybe unfair on him to hand him the Norwich defeat last season as it was thrust upon him less than 24 hours before kick off due to Alex Neil doing one. We may have signed some talented young players throughout speakmans time but the ones I listed were the last 2 windows not all of which I slated by the way simply the ones who have given zero impact whether they've played or not. A couple of them may come good in a few years but they ain't helping now. Its the recruitment policy I am having a go at here. Yes Amad and Michut were never ours but its still talent we haven't replaced this is what I was referring to as shambolic not our current losing streak but then it's easy to fit an argument by simply cutting and pasting certain parts of a post. My personal insult of Speakman is over the top I agree and I apologise for it. As for suddenly posting 15 times on this thread should I also apologise for that I didn't realise only a select few were allowed to comment on these threads it should be made clear in the title if this is the case. Finally in terms of posting about leaving games early I see you have dragged up a post from a good while ago when I said I left the Boro game early as couldn't take it anymore. At the time I left there were about 10k left but anyway that's by the by. Finally thanks for the likes for my last 5 or 6 comments over the last few months on your match day threads they all started pinging through last night. It seems odd you've spent all that time going through specifically looking for my comments or then again maybe it's an easy thing to do. Again as you say I rarely comment so I ain't exactly an expert.
He has credit in the bank from me but his decision to sack Mowbray and replace him with Beale looks madness, to then sack Beale and put an academy coach in looks just as ridiculous, then take into account the last 3 transfer windows and the inability to recruit a decent striker you could say he’s started to lose the plot. He was quick to take the praise but he is now in the firing line and it’s all his own doing. I think it’s a long way back for him now because he’s signed a lot of poor players recently that will need moving on or somehow improve them dramatically
I've had it suggested, by a good mate on RTG, that the club are already making approaches to managers/clubs for people already employed and have sounded out some who are already available. There's a few who've said they wouldn't be interested including one who many of us would like. I know his name but can't post it, I've messaged the name to a couple on here for future reference. The RTG lad won't post anything because he'd just cop a tsunami of accusations. He's a really decent lad and not one for confrontation, very well known and liked though.
"Adil was definitely unlucky not to start," said Dodds. Why, did the dart with his name on bounce off the frame.
Yet they were both on the pitch at the same time on Tuesday, which was also when we were having our best spell in the game
